There’s a recent Disney Dan video where he goes through the history of Tinkerbell flying in the parks that’s really interesting. The original Tink had a crazy backstory of her own that was wild to hear about.

I think I’m doing mania again. Definitely hitting Disneyland since I have a couple comp passes still. I want to get up to Uni as well but not sure if I’ll have the time / $$$.

I got to go on the Mario Kart ride twice and I’m going to the cafe in like an hour. The ride was incredibly fun, it just took some learning to do it but it’s such a great addition to the park.

This was the food we got from the cafe and I think I spent around like $65 on it all. I think the only annoying part is that even though I reserved a 12:30 slot you don’t actually go in at that time. I think I got in around like 1:15 and I got my food around 1:30.

I can’t complain about the food it was all just decent. The spaghetti had a surprising little spice to it which was super nice while my brother didn’t have any complaints about his burger besides saying it was average.

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again but that Mario Kart ride was so sick. The queue had so many fun Easter eggs and references in it and it was super well designed all the way up to the launch room. I was able to sit in the seat and I had some comfort and the headset and glasses were easy to put on. I got lucky enough to go on it like 3 times and then the queue hit like 100 minutes and I said goodbye for like a year.

I didn’t get to try out any of the powerband stuff because that kind of stuff just wasn’t for me tbh. I asked my brother if he wanted to try it and he said no also but they had a ton of cool little hidden areas to use it like i mean everywhere and in everything had opportunities.

I think my only complaint is going to be that the land is super small and once it starts to get really packed it’s going to be horrible. The cafe had a wait time plus your reservation so basically there was a line of 30 people waiting to get in and right next to that was the Mario and Luigi meet and greet which also had a crazy line and they practically blended together. I was lucky I was there when it was only pass members but I can’t imagine how chaotic it gets on opening day when everyone was allowed in especially when I left around 2 pm and it looked chaotic. I think I took that picture around 11 am when it was still super empty.

shoutout to whoever recommended the Allbirds shoes. Just finished up a week at Disney World wearing them all day every day and my feet and legs were totally fine through it all

Nice. Which ones did you get? The wool or the runners?

I got the tree runners in black. Super lightweight and I liked the stretchiness of them so it didn't feel like there was any rubbing at all on the back of my heel where I usually get blisters

I think I'm skipping this year. First time I'll miss since like 2017 (aside from 2020). Just burnt out on both Disney and Uni after going so many years in a row.

I only did one house and then left last year. The lines are getting too long and it is the same thing in every house.

  19. Man. I envy some of you lol. I've only been to each park once and they were both wonderful experiences. I'd love to be able to go again

  21. I suppose our locations don't help, but sincerely, in a non-shitty way, how are people going multiple times a year? Is it just what you use most of your expendable income on? Or are there cheaper ways to visit these parks (including flying and accomodations) that I'm not considering?

If I didn't live 20 minutes from Disneyland there'd be no way. I don't know how I'm ever going to make it to Disney World.

i have a Southwest credit card so i have been flying for free the last two years with the points i had. for my HHN trip there's four of us going, so splitting one hotel room for three nights isn't much more than about $225 a person. i'm not super extravagant with my meals on vacation so that's not really an issue. the park tickets can be expensive but it is what it is.

my parents have DVC so most of the time I am flying down with them or to meet up with them, and they can use their DVC points to add on an extra room for me/my wife/brother/his wife. i generally don't go more than once a year, i've only been doing that the last two years because of our HHN long weekend.

i am not making a ton of money by any means, but i was saving up to buy a house and then the world ended so i'm just making myself happy with a trip or two per year until the market is affordable again

I’m pretty poor but for so cal residents an annual Disneyland pass was only like $150 down and then $19 a month or something like that. I could easily drive there and back in the same day, it’s only like an hour and a half from me.

if I wasn’t local I could never afford going lol
