I've enjoyed all three of their albums, and I suspect I'll be really into this too.

Lyrics to this definitely talk about how the drugs changed him and made him a worse person. I'm here for Parker's growth.

I’m all for Parker being a better person even if it results in a change in sound. The rest of the band has never seemed to have the issues that he has had and I assumed that he will eventually get better as he ages. If he is becoming self aware that is a great step.

I also don’t think this is anything but an upgrade from the S/T. I didn’t like much of the S/T until about a year after it was released. It’s not an album that can be listened to for three years.

    Newbie

Too much of the same from the Self Titled album

    I'm loving the new sound.

I didn’t really like the production much for the s/t, especially after WYDS sounding so good in comparison

WYDS is definitely this bands current peak. I liked the more self reflective lyrics and just better song writing. Think this could be a breath of fresh air for them.

  9. Rob Hughes

    Play the Yakuza series

WYDS just sounded bigger and better in every way

Didn't realize this song was out until they started playing it yesterday at the TBS show. So that was a nice surprise. Parker's ability to stand completely still during a live performance is weird.

Yeah I wish he was more energetic live again. They used to be absolutely mad.

The more the band moves closer to sounding like Elder Brother the better off they’ll be

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

I listened to this new one in my car and thought it sounded like garbage (Vocals seemed too quiet/washed out by the instrumentals) but when I got home last night spun it with my good headphones and it sounded significantly clearer to the point where I'm really digging it. Maybe the problem is the bass being cranked too high in the mix? idk I'm no production nerd

We reach for the longest shadow

The problem with the self titled record was that it was generally just not catchy.

  17. danielalee12

    Regular

i sorta enjoyed it, but yeah i kind of forced myself to think some of the chorus' were catchy. And that ending of the closer felt very abrupt; literally felt like they stopped writing mid song.

With that said though, I’ve always thought this band comes across better when listening to a full album as opposed to cherrypicking individual songs, which is unique for a fairly samey pop punk band

If this is what their shows are going to be like in the future, I'm stepping off the train. He was a such a great frontman when he wasn't trying to be Liam Gallagher.
