The Spill Canvas is an American alternative rock band from Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

 

How in the shit did they not already have a thread?

 

chris nobody thinks about this band anymore

one fell swoop used to be one of my favorites and this band has a few songs that really really helped when i was much younger. but the band has done nothing but ride the nostalgia train and write bad music since like, 2012 or so

 

They sold out the Middle East when I saw them last fall, so, unsurprisingly...wrong, Casey.

Tbh, I feel the same way about them now that I did then:

Excellent songwriting...except for the lyrics.

 

This band was hugely important for me and when my band opened for them it was truly one of my best memories





But fuck some of their lyrics do not hold up and make me uncomfortable nowadays

 

that was also a full album tour. as i said, nostalgia

the only tours they've done the last two or three years have been for their two most loved albums. they're riding that hard. once they stop that...it'll be done.

also, funny enough, i have only seen this band once, when my friend dragged me to emo night he did two songs.

Abnormalities, Realities and Gestalt are all really solid collections of music, but very overlooked. Would be interested in new music from them, Nick's solo album left a lot to be desired

 

abnormalities is good. realities is horrid. gestalt was fine, but not great

 

A dude that suffered really hard times toured on songs people loved and that's a bad thing ... why?

Rollercoaster is definitely the best song on the new EP. The other two songs are aiiiiiiight, but we seem to be at the point where he might have hit his limit

I've always wondered, and the album has no performer credits.

 

Learned a lot of things at their show tonight. Nick was very open about being diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. He talked about Warner telling them their album was shit and they were contractually obligated to make a new one, so even though it was a “trip down memory lane” setlist, he hates those albums and skipped them. Also a new album is done!
