I can see that. Twin Peaks has grown beyond its original definition many times at this point. It is a universe that exists beyond the show(s).

I love the original TP because I regard it as Lynch’s most accessible to mainstream audiences. The Return on the other hand I just couldn’t get into but appreciated the gang got back together. His films I either like (Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive) or ones I deem not for me (Lost Highway)

More accessible than The Straight Story?

that’s an outlier too. I’m surprised he even made it but found it funny in that he regards it as his most experimental film

I love The Straight Story. That last scene with Harry Dean Stanton is so beautiful

  7. More of an Elephant Man man myself. Blue Velvet and Lost Highway are good. Other than those and s1 of Twin Peaks...not really a Lynch guy. Have not seen Wild at Heart or The Straight Story yet, though.

Mulholland Dr. is in my top 10 all time and it hasn’t even been mentioned.

All his movies I’ve seen are wonderful.

  10. I like Mulholland more on second watch but it still loses me with the little people. I may have been rubbed wrong by too many art-school-type Lynch fans in college, though

FNL would have a stronger legacy without season 2 imo but anything that gets me to actually care and be invested in small town Texas high school football is a feat in itself

The one cast member the most people seem to dislike is Vito.

The video is too long but basically Bobby was supposed to become a bigger character in season six part one but Vito pushed hard for the Vito storyline and that is why Bobby's arc only really started in 6 part two.

I imagine a lot of that happens on long-running shows. This was their big break and with the death toll of a show like this there could be competition to fill those spots.

I hope Vito and Bill Rawls are dating and in love in an alternate, kinder universe

The Vito storyline was a little strange in the way they would skip entire episodes and not show it at all. A lot of smaller characters grew into bigger roles over time, but it definitely is a bigger side story than almost anything we had seen before.

According to Wikipedia, that small New Hampshire town was actually filmed in Boonton, NJ

They did that a lot throughout the course of the show tbh. Go in depth on a side character only for them to disappear for 2-3 episodes. You’d spend an entire episode watching Chris ruin his life with that real estate agent and then you wouldn’t see him again til he randomly pops up sober a few episodes later

They must have used the New Hampshire camera filter
