I'm just a humble lurker but I share this opinion and furthermore believe The Sidekicks to be one of the best bands doin' it. Really hoping for a new record this year.

Runners for autumn/winter, Happiness Hours for spring/summer. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be

 

Happiness Hours is an all-time great summer album. Hope we get a new one soon.

I always thought of Runners as an early Spring album, but I agree with this assessment!

yeah i think they’re unfortunately done, for anyone holding out hope

but we get to enjoy a fantastic little discography for the rest of our lives

 

damn. i got to see them once in 2015, when they played a local show with All Dogs to a room of about 100 people

 

dang there’s like some knowledge to an actual reason they’re done? Also was holding out hope they’d keep putting out lowkey classic records forever

Also obviously a different vibe but you should also check out Soggy Dog, Sam and the TJ split all are very great

 

Happiness Hours is their best album and it’s not even close for me, I’ll be sad to never hear a follow-up to it but if that’s the case at least they went out with one of my favorite albums in recent years.

 

Ah fuck, didn't realise they'd called it quits. That's such a shame. What an incredible discography though. Does anyone know why?

I don’t know the reason but I know a friend was prepared to offer them a lot of money for a show and was told to not even bother
