I was you just a week ago. Need to set up nursery furniture. Couldn’t do that until I cleaned out stuff in that room first, couldn’t do that until the basement is organized to move more stuff. Couldn’t do that until I built storage shelves and took out excess wood framing we aren’t using (previous owners).

thankfully over the holiday break I was able to build that damn storage...

We are on kid #4 and we're still at that point haha. Trying to figure out where everything is going to go. We just bought my daughters a bunk bed and then the fun begins once we start building that

We've just accepted we're probably going to need to get a larger house at some point, which wasn't clear to us when we bought our townhome. But it's damn true now.

Probably also doesn't help we have a ball pit in our house.

  4. I'll trade you houses. Mines too big for three people and we arent having any more kids lol

Yeah, we bought our home when my wife was pregnant with our first. We thought it was plenty big at the time - but we quickly realized that it's not, haha. That said, the housing market has been a shitshow for two years, so it's stupid to even look for homes now.

We bought our first house before we had kids. Then we had twins, followed by a third almost exactly 2 years later, and after a few years of 5 of us in there the house (but especially the yard) started to feel a little cramped. We could've remodeled and finished the basement for more space, but it didn't make sense given how much the value of the house already increased.

So we sold in the spring and bought a new, bigger place halfway across the country. But we already have eyes toward remodeling parts of it as we need more space in the future, like when the kids need their own rooms and we need a third full bathroom.

We bought our house in June 2020, 3 bed 1 bath ranch with decent yard and garage. We already added a second bath and finished the basement and my wife is starting to feel cramped

Our house is a 3-bedroom and we finished the basement a few years after we moved in. We absolutely love our neighborhood as it has a lot of young families and it's in a great area, we just have one of the smaller model homes in the neighborhood. My sister and her kids live in the neighborhood too, but their home is like, 700 sq ft bigger than ours.

I always joke with my wife that we should just buy a different house in the neighborhood (which I actually really would do, but she wouldn't).

Yeah we bought our 1,500 sq ft 3 bed, 2 bath before we had kids. Now with our second on the way we’re looking for a bigger one. Though the market here is just a joke. Plus contingent offers are hard to do here.

Yeah, no one is doing contingent offers in this market. Hell, most people aren't even doing home inspections anymore, which is absolute bonkers.

For my divorced parents out there, what do you do for your kids other parent on Xmas? I asked my son what he wanted to get his mom, and he said nothing, or that he doesn't know. I hardly speak to her anymore so literally have no idea if she needs/wants anything.

Lol thanks I just found this thread, I thought I'd seen one before. It's been an adventure, we were having a scheduled c section because the baby was refusing to turn, but my wife had an appointment today and she's finally head down and ready to go!

Only problem is my wife has a cyst on her ovary and they were going to get it out during the c section but that's no longer an option, so she'll have to do the laparoscopic surgery six weeks later, which presents a whole new challenge

I know exactly how you feel. Wife has had 3 C-section, a 4th in April, and not only that but a month after my oldest was born she had a gall stone and had surgery to remove it, on day after Thanksgiving.
She also had a blood transfusion after my current youngest. Everything will go well try not to stress!

Lmao we went to this super fancy restaurant where it was like $95 a plate (prices differed heavily from what was shown online) and after we looked at the menu we were like nah and left before even getting water. We dressed up super fancy too lol

We ended up going to this seafood restaurant we drive by everyday and always talk about going to. There was a screaming baby at the table behind us and then this old guy at the bar farted super loudly while we were eating. They had this bottle of super nice bourbon at the bar and when I tried to order it they said it was empty and just for decoration. And then once the baby family left a bunch of teenagers sat down at that table and took turns switching seats so they could take pictures of each other with the bar in the background. Pretty silly night but we made it work lol
