13 weeks. We weren’t going to do the blood panel that showed sex, but our insurance would cover it and it came with a few extra biomarker tests. Our anatomy scan is end of November.

Just venting. I've been playing video games my whole life. Just recently (this year) my 5 year old expressed interest in playing Mario Kart. He doesn't get a lot of TV time, but when he does, he absolutely loves it, and playing with me. Just found out my ex wifes new boyfriend bought my son a Switch and MK. It's not the first time they've pulled something like that too, we love reading comics together, and they go out and buy comics. Just let me have my thing and stop trying to compete.

What are some of your go to kid friendly dinners? We’re trying to branch out a little and it’s hit or miss with how successful we are. He hates pasta (besides Kraft Mac n cheese) and rice so finding sides has been tricky. He eats a variety of proteins but we’re struggling to find new ways to make them besides just breaded chicken and burgers.

Edit with some details: he’s 8 and since it’s my bf’s kid we didn’t really start the new food thing till they moved in with me over the summer. He previously lived in the same house as his grandparents who just made him whatever he wanted. We have since started just giving him the same meal as us but for the sake of him eating we try to include things he’ll like.

How old is he? And what do you mean by kid friendly? My ex and I were were adamant from early on that our son wouldn't be a picky eater. We introduced him to "grown up" foods early and loves all of it. We'll do shrimp, salmon, sushi and sashimi, crab cakes, chicken. We of course sometimes have things like pizza and hot dogs, but for the most part we don't cook a separate meal just for him (he's about to be 6).

He’s 8, like I said it’s hit or miss with new foods. For most of his life he just got chicken fingers and eggo waffles so if we do anything too different it can go south pretty fast. We tried doing hibachi because we thought if it was fun he might try new foods but he only ate a few pieces of shrimp and wouldn’t try anything else. He’s had meltdowns when we try to do tacos haha.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

I can only speak anecdotally since my son is 2 now and obviously nowhere near as developed in his palette as an 8 year old is, but my kid really likes doing breakfast for dinner to the point where we do it 2 or 3 times a week now - berries, pancakes or toast with jelly, and lean sausage. I'm surprised he's taken to it as well as he has, but we've found a way to make it fairly healthy and accommodate most food groups. My son hates veggies, but our pediatrician has said that this isn't a particularly big concern as long as he eats plenty of fruit. He loves his oranges, berries, apples, and peaches so we can ply him well that way. We also had some luck with sloppy joes this past weekend. I would just advise to try small portions of things and see what sticks kind of like what we've done with our kid...maybe not as good of practical advice since I'm comparing my experiences with a 2 year old to an 8 year old, but it's what has worked for us. I'd also advise talking to your pediatrician if you value their opinion since they'll probably have some more insight beyond the experiences we can share here.

Generally my son(2) has a very healthy, and well rounded meal routine. Breakfast usually eggs w/dry Cheerios, mini pancakes, and yogurt. Lunch, and dinner are a combination of meat balls, chicken, ALWAYS broccoli(which he loves), apple, and cheese sticks. We’re always amazed he loves broccoli, but he hates other vegetables. Won’t try them, and weirdly enough hates Mac & cheese. Occasionally my mil will buy him McDonald’s for lunch. Very rare though. I do want to start having him regularly eat beef, and try more vegetables.

How did your kids feel after the shot? Same symptoms as adults?

  13. My son goes to feeding therapy because he only eats like 10 things. He's 3 and just outright refuses to try anything new. I'd kill for him to eat an apple lol. Every kid had a weird thing going in though. Just gotta get through it.

So far no issues at all. She's been playing all day, even doing a cartwheel and immediately going "I don't even feel where the shot was" so that's relief. Will definitely continue to monitor her though.

No symptoms at all still with her first shot. She's thrilled (As are we). My mom doesn't know since she's a psycho anti-vaxxer.

My wife and I had our 20 week anatomy scan for our first child due in April. Everything normal! What an experience being able to see the little guy moving around and opening and closing his mouth.

Our house is slowly getting filled with more and more things we need to put together, stroller, crib, nursey furniture, etc, etc.

    April 16th!

Is your wife needing a booster during her pregnancy? My wife is due about now. We have a check up with our OB today and will ask, if they say go for it we will do it. The doctor who read our scan photos said she recommends it, but there has been some mixed messaging from all her Docs.

I believe his due date is the 16th as well or somewhere around there. Most likely he'll be here early because of C-section and his siblings all came 9-10 days early.

My wife's OB recommended her get a booster a while back and she went and got it about a month ago I believe.

Nothing too crazy, feeling kinda crappy for like a day and what's being referred to as COVID Arm where her point of injection is still kinda red and tender

My wife's due March 3rd, and I feel like we are so behind with everything at the moment in terms of getting ready. And everything we need to do is dependent on a preceding event. We need to move the office into the room we currently are using for the cats, but that's dependent on figuring out where to move the cat tree and the litter boxes...sigh. And so on and so forth.
