I never jumped on the Snapchat bandwagon. Really, I never thought it was special — just different.

But if I’ve learned anything, it’s this: Snapchat is different — in all the worst ways.

I casually engaged with Snapchat to see what the hype was about, and am glad I never invested much time in it. I don’t feel bad deleting it from my phone, and I encourage you to consider doing the same.

you only serve one purpose. and i mean like.. one purpose in life. uncle stories. that is your sole existence. nothing else you say matters. nothing else you do matters. your uncle stories are the only measure of your self-worth. so make with the uncles stories.

 

Cops really do need to either resign and join the movement that opposes them, or completely cease to exist. I've seen the forums and facebook pages that police officers often frequent and they're littered with memes that are utterly terrifying--talks about combating evil, sacrificing their lives for "brothers and sisters wearing the badge," and so on. The mindset of a truly dedicated police officer is almost--if not entirely--childlike. They seem to treat their job as a cultish game of "cops and robbers" who carry real guns and drive real cars. These are the people who are supposed to uphold laws, no matter what they believe, that inherently carry racism. If they want to be involved in reforming the justice system, they need to quit. I understand that puts a person in a hard place when we're talking about their career, but a reform of the justice system can lead to reforming the role of a police officer (or a more appropriate title would be public servant). Dedicated cops don't want that though. They want to live out the fantasy of capturing evil-doers for a variety of reasons that are probably all rooted in our ideas of masculinity.

So yeah, fuck cops.

Am I wrong in thinking that the type of individuals from the Western World who want to join ISIS fit the psychological profile of those who join cults (low self-esteem, cultural disillusion, wanting to belong)?

 

I would imagine the psychology is quite close to those of mass shooters.
