I can always be better, so I'll always try. Supporter

It was one of the only records on Paste's Top 25 of the year so far that I didn't recognize.

For me this is the best album from the genre so far this year, well other than maybe Isbell and Waxahatchee if you want to count those. Her previous album Trinity Lane was also really solid.

Paste including Hailey Whitters was great. I'll check this out for sure.

So we've got Ruston coming up, when are we getting an announcement from Kacey?

Willing to bet there is not going to be a new Kacey record in 2020.

  18. Wouldn't she probably hold it out til early 2021 at this point anyway to be able tour/play festivals as part of the release cycle? I don't want to be right but I think a lot of artists are going to slow roll release cycles for the next year or so.

Not sure a standard Nashville release cycle CAN get any slower but

It sounded like 2020 was going to be a regrouping/rest year for her, at least before COVID happened. Nothing I've read suggests she was really diving into writing/recording yet. And she's typically worked pretty collaboratively, so I'm not sure what the pandemic/social distancing would have meant for co-writing/getting in a studio with her band. I suppose she could surprise us all with a totally stripped down acoustic record that she made during quarantine (which would be awesome), but I'd still bet on next spring/summer for a new album.

My guy, I'm currently writing a review for a Nashville album whose lead single came out 22 months ago.

For the record, I would love nothing more than a new Kacey Musgraves album this year, but she's earned a year off if she wants it.
