Finally came round to love Lori - I remember giving 'The Tree' a hard time especially when compared to 'By The Way, I Forgive You' and discussing it with you Craig! I think it's a wonderful album now

 

Got an advance of the new Tenille Townes album. She's such a fantastic songwriter. I wish Jay Joyce was not the producer on this project. I think all four Living Room Worktapes songs are dramatically inferior in their fully produced versions. Everything else here works really well, but it's hard not to think of how special these songs would be if they were recorded in that more stripped down style (or if I hadn't heard that EP and this was my introduction to her music). Still glad this is finally coming out, though. The (few) songs we hadn't heard yet are all pretty stellar.

Imagining the parallel Earth where the Tenille Townes album was produced by Dave Cobb instead and getting depressed.

 

Just let Daniel Tashian produce it in the style of Golden Hour. He co-wrote more than half the songs on here!

CMAT just dropped the music video for her debut single that I’ve been bopping to for the past couple weeks.

 

I cannot believe I missed this announcement. I love Blitzen Trapper, and this song sound absolutely glorious.

 

@Craig Manning - you heard anything about a new album?

 

I have not, but Nashville rollouts are so long these days that this could be months/years away. Who knows!

 

Checking out Emily Scott Robinson’s Traveling Mercies and wow - “The Dress.” Powerful song.

yeah so this is like thirty years old but I feel like once every couple of years I remember how good this guy is and get blown away again. maybe closer to "folk" but whatever man. anyway sorry for the spam

he's definitely one of the better mainstream-oriented country artists although i feel like it's more accurate to file his music under "heartland rock" at this point. looking forward to this too.

 

Yeah she's one of my favorite new discoveries from the past couple years. According to my Apple "Replay 2019" playlist she occupies the top 4 slots of most played songs from last year. The Dress being #1.
