Goddamn it. Like two people tagged me in it so I got excited.

I just got around to Andy freaking out over his calculator in jello. This is the only show to make me laugh out loud this often.

    edit: calculator. damn it

I just finished this for the first time. Truly some amazing stuff here over all. The last 3 episodes are fantastic.

Season 8 and 9 are as bad as everyone says and then some. What were the writers thinking with those seasons.

^I liked it but I took my like back when I read the second sentence. Was it the same when Michael left? No, but they still did a decent job and it was easily worth watching all the way through. There were some great moments in those last two seasons, and it was nice to give the other characters time to breathe outside the context of what Michael was doing, because honestly every character on that show was worth spending some amount of time with.

Only thing I really have a complaint with is what they did with Andy. I wasn't a fan of the "Andy runs away on the family boat and then gives up everything to be an actor" story.

The first half of season 9 felt really depressing to me and a few characters really started to grate on me, but there was plenty of good moments the last two seasons. Far weaker but never made me want to stop watching lol.

I agree with this. It's definitely weird when it gets more depressing (I feel like this is common for long running sitcoms: Friends, the Office, How I Met Your Mother all have some depressing times in the later seasons, which is kind of weird).
But your last sentence pretty much sums up my feelings. It's definitely not the same, and a lot less consistent, but I never wished they just stopped the show after Michael left. There was enough good to make it worth it, and the end specifically made up for a lot of the quality dip that came before it. I don't think it would've been as satisfying if they tried to end the show with Michael. Moments of his goodbye would've been diluted to fit in other characters, and I think a lot of characters wouldn't have been given proper endings themselves. (Kevin wouldn't have ended up owning a bar for example; Angela's story would've only been about Dwight and we wouldn't have gotten things like Angela/Oscar's friendship arc. Things like that.)

Didn't they do that so Ed Helms could run off and film The Hangover or something?

I have no idea, probably. It did not work for me though, and even when he came back I just did not enjoy the writing for Andy anymore. I really enjoyed Andy as the unlikely manager, and then they just completely 180'd and it turned into a mess.

Yeah like...it's gonna be bad, I'm certain of that much. But at this point I've become detached enough that if they revived it I could probably do a good job ignoring it
