If I had to pick one metalcore act that's been consistently consistent for the last 20 years it's these guys. I know exactly what to expect and I love it every time.

Just incredible. I'll do a full write-up once I get back from California, but they have not lost a step. Both vocalists killed it and it was super cool to see them trade off and then end on a few songs together.

Kerry's band was fine. Played Raining Blood and Black Magic so that was cool.

Mastodon was awesome. The visuals behind them the whole set were incredible. They sounded great. Brann playing those parts for an hour and still pulling off vocals at the end of the set was impressive.

LOG was tight too. All of Ashes followed by Memento Mori and Redneck. It was kind of weird seeing all these tracks (and it being the 20th anniversary) without Chris Adler. Art is a good drummer but I can't help but miss Chris especially in this setting. Still had a blast and it was a treat to finally hear some of the deeper cuts from the record live.

So Mis Sigs ruled. I flew all the way from San Antonio to LA for that show. Side note: had I flown out but a day later, my flight would have been cancelled because of the global IT outage.

As soon as we got to the venue, I said 'well, see you later' to my brothers and made my way to a few feet away from the stage on the left side. We skipped all the openers and only had to wait maybe less than 15 mins. Their set was perfect, opening with A Victim, A Target is such a power move. Jesse was hype and full of energy, jumping all over the stage and thrusting the mic into the crowd left and right.

When Karl came out after the first two songs (they switched off), the crowd went wild. They were more hype when he was out considering he did the vocals for the middle three albums and the crowd wasn't as familiar with the first EP or the latest album since they hadn't toured it much. Thankfully, they cut two of the EP songs they'd been playing for The Stinging Rain, so that was a major upgrade. They did the last few songs together, which was just incredible.

    Highlights:

    - Jesse bringing his daughter on stage to announce the next song the band was gonna play
    - that next song being The Year Summer Ended in June, and Jesse gave me the mic for a line towards the end
    - Talking with Karl and getting a pic with him after the show
    - the fkin sweet shirt I got
    - seeing Jesse interact with fans after the show. The dude is 45 years old and an English teacher!
    - going to a show with my brothers for the first time ever

Like I mentioned earlier, this was the first time the three of us were in the same place in 8 years and the first show we've been to all together. Super good memory that I won't forget anytime soon.

    Pics incoming

With Karl (I'm the idiot on the left):
