Y'all remember when acts like this were all the rage back when bands like Trap Them and Black Breath (RIP) were still around? That was such a good era. I miss this style a lot, I feel like it's fallen off and that there aren't so many bands doing the blackened crust/grind/hardcore fusion sound anymore. Big names in the style called it quits, others just haven't dropped full-lengths in a while, and I swear I just don't see people talk about these bands that much anymore despite them being ubiquitous maybe seven or eight years ago. Times sure have changed.

 

This stuff is my shit.

Cloud Rat is still active and killing it. Dead in the Dirt is now defunct and are in Infernal Coil which is a a deathgrind/war metal outfit which kicks ass.

 

Black Breath one of my most missed bands.

Cursed II is a total masterpiece.

I walked around a freezing Montreal blasting it through my headphones one time then ran across a record store that same day & they had a copy so I instantly picked it up & it will always remind me of that day haha.

 

not a huge Krallice fan but this one blew my mind

 

I am a huge Krallice fan but the approach they took on this was really different and great so I see why it sticks out to you. I need to check out the one they dropped a few days ago. I like taking night time strolls (preferably in the cold) when I first listen to a new Krallice album for some reason. Actually, I like doing that for most black metal or doom metal adjacent albums.

 

New Krallice is so cool. Love how synth-y it is

After I get my assignments turned in on Friday Krallice, Mitski, and Venom Prison sound like decent ways to treat myself.

 

Word. Been on a scavenger hunt to find bands that I either missed back when or are carrying the torch of this sound. That Slowbleed record sounded like it had some Entombed-core influence, and call me crazy, but did anybody else feel like that new Fit For An Autopsy record sounded like the guys had been listening to a bunch of Swedeath before they recorded that album? I didn't know that HM-2-influenced FFAA was something I needed but there were some sections I half expected to hear a feature from LG Petrov or someone like him, LOL.

 

I dig Krallice, not a huge fan of them but I like a bunch of their stuff.

I’m a massive krallice fan and listen to their first four to five albums constantly but all their stuff is good

found something that caught my attention on Bandcamp tonight

Come to find out they had a limited run of an album 4-5 years ago that I can’t find a rip of, but found a few clips on YouTube. Hitting all the right notes for me right now.
