Immolation is one of the very best bands. They are actually pretty unconventional. CTAWB is probably a top 20 or 30 album in the genre's canon.

Sounded pretty dope. I like the vocals more than that twatty Agalloch guy, but it's missing the post-metal elements that I love so much about them.

Anyone listen to that Plebeian Grandstand release from last year? It's like Converge meets savage black metal. Heavy and chaotic and crusty as fuck.

Also, Carnifex is coming into my city but i haven't fully made it into the deathcore scene. I feel like this show is kickass and I've been to a deathcore show before (Emmure) but i still can't really get into Carnifex, Rings Of Saturn, Lorna Shore, or any other bands on the show.

also for some reason I haven't listened to any of the new Darkest Hour and "Timeless Number" is a jam. Definitely a step up from their last album.

yeah i think darkest hour are really gonna turn it around with this album. not that the last couple were outright bad but you know, they are markedly worse than deliver us and undoing ruin.

Fun fact, I (and some other people) stopped these guys from making the Mayhem Festival 2011 lineup.

The first forum I ever posted on was the Mayhem Fest forums back in the day. Darkest Hour made a post on facebook along the lines of "head over to the Mayhem Fest website forums and tell them you want us on the bill this summer!" Must have been negotiating to be on the bill or something.

So I made a thread that said something along the lines of "Fuck Darkest Hour, UNEARTH for Mayhem 2011"
Unearth made it on the lineup, and later that summer in an interview with one of the organizers (the dude who wasn't Kevin Lyman) he said they wouldn't have booked unearth if not for "online interest"

It was sort of a dick move on my part but I was 15

Here's a track from the new Woe album. Awesome USBM.

Also, I finally got around to listening to the new Krallice album and was floored at how good it was.

you don't need to mince words. the last darkest hour album was awful, derivative Sumeriancore-style BS.

My love for DH has been as follows album-to-album:

So Sedated - has some of their best songs
Sadist Nation - a little repetitive but still hard af
Undoing Ruin - one of my all-time fav metal albums, first album of theirs I heard
Deliver Us - another classic, more experimental
Eternal Return - I miss Norris but this is a pretty pissed off sound, nice
The Human Romance - meh, didn't really pay attention
S/T - appreciated it as it had been 3 years, but it is very watered down and radio friendly
