Haha, I posted them before listening to either of them. At least I know now I don't need to revisit them

 

It's still (somewhat) relevant content to the thread.

 

I post things I don't care for all the time here because there may be people who are interested about them here.

 

The Funeral of God is a perfect album

 

Zao in general are pretty damn awesome

 

Employed To Serve are putting British metal back on top — Kerrang!

I think I've read about one of you getting the album in advance right? I can't wait to hear your thoughts once you're allowed to share them. I've been revisiting their discography this past week, and I wonder if they're going to follow the groovier direction of their latest or bring back some of the mathcore-y elements of their early stuff... or try new things! Anyway, they rip.

As such an entry point, Conquering is a very good one. Ultra heavy and explosive, it leans even further into Sammy’s love of death metal OGs like Morbid Angel and Death, plus classic thrash, with shredding solos everywhere, as well as more vocals from the guitarist.

Okay that sounds really exciting.

 

Iron Maiden is rumored to be announcing a new album very soon. They keep teasing it.

I bought tickets to take my dad to see Testament, Death Angel and Exodus. Proud Father and Son moment.

Lol some of these I haven't even listened to, I just vomited up a bunch of bands I knew that released something this year

 

Random thought that entered my head today. How long did it take you guys to get fully "caught up" on all the classics of this genre? Entering into metal as a youngin' back in the day and from then till now it always seemed like everybody else had just heard everything released by the classic bands - feels like going down a "required listening" list is what a lot of new metalheads do when they first start exploring the genre. I didn't have that same intro and it's taken a concerted effort to patch the gaps in my knowledge. Even after years of listening I still haven't heard even the big releases from a lot of must-have metal bands so it makes me wonder how many years of exploration it takes the average metalhead to be fully caught up on "The Pantheon" of the genre. Or any genre, really.

 

Unfortunately no Enforced. I can say that much!
