Friday roundup:

-The new Sanguisugaboogie album is...decent. I'm not a huge slam fan, but they definitely are aware of their gimmick so that adds a bit to its charm. Definitely not worth $40 shipped for a single LP though.

-Genghis Tron is good. Definite progression from their last album and am going to need to dive into it more before a final verdict.

-The new Blindfolded and Led To The Woods is another one that's gonna take a bit to digest. I dig it a lot though. FFO tech death with deathcore breakdowns and riffing.

-To reiterate my post earlier with week in the hardcore thread, y'all should check out the new Violent Spirit EP "Fire". They fall somewhere between Venom and Poison Idea on the metal/hardcore axis. Probably my favorite EP of the year behind Sulk and Holy Figures new releases. It definitely could eclipse them in time though.

 

The Spongebobburger record is pretty short, only liked one of the prerelease singles. Idk that whole brutal guttural thing just isn’t for me.

 

I like the Sanguisugabogg record, but I'm not quite as hot on it as I thought I'd be. They have riffs, but it's overall a little too samesy for me for an full length.

 

The Diamond Eyes riff in the last minute.

that Aduanten song is so good. I know they have the drummer from Obsequiae but I guess they got the vocalist to do some guest vocals too

love how they have that fucked up psychedelic twist to their music which continues to make the early / mid albums unique till this day

Gateways is soooo good - I would put it up there with A, B and C - maybe better than D

 

They got so much more groovy as they kept making albums

 

Formulas is p gnarly too! awesome band
