My biggest issue with the new Vektor album is that some of the tracks on it just seem like they are meandering all of the place and the transitions between riffs and passages are jarring. Also, it's a hard listen at 73 minutes. Still, some of those individual tracks are also when listened to on a standalone basis.

Tech death is the best death. Start with necrophagist or arsis. Or cryptopsy. Or the faceless. Or decapitated

God damn I love tech death.

I always want to get into more tech death bands but I always just spin Lugal Ki En instead. That album just satisfies me in so many ways.

Agreed on all counts, such a damn long album. Outer Isolation is a much more enjoyable listen at this point.

I'm glad I'm not alone in my views on this album. While there are some awesome moments on the album, the consensus and amount of praise it seems to be getting everywhere is baffling to me.

So I kinda love this. It sounds like it should have come out 5 years ago, but who cares.

Yeah the whole album is a joy to listen to; really technically proficient riffing, melodies, screaming, yet you can still understand the words, etc. Really fun live too. I think they're touring sometime in the next few months. Seems like they're not making quite enough money yet, as lead singer, from a recent Instagram post, appears to be a cook/chef

I loved the heavy bits most, tbh. He's a killer screamer.

Rings of Saturn is closer to psyopus so like...Tech noise? Haha I don't know.

I think they get unfairly criticized for their over produced sound but, at least for me, puts my ears through some shock every time I listen. In a good way lol.

Never heard of Psyopus. Will definitely check anyone out who gets compared to Rings of Saturn though haha. Yeah I can see why people don't think of them as tech death but at the same time I don't know what else you would call them.

At first, I didn't love them but really I think their sound is so unique and awesome. There are some truly beautiful parts on that album too. I'm ready for a new record. They are on Nuclear Blast now too so that's good for them.

Archspire plays a pretty absurd brand of tech death. Like, their vocalist is insane.
