New Undeath is solid, dirty death metal that's a perfect mix of technicality and mosh heaviness. A solid contender for my favorite death metal release of the year if it holds up on subsequent listens.

The new Pallbearer is good. More of the same from them, which isn't a bad thing. Brett's vocals get better with each release. It's also nice to have a good mix of song lengths from them.

 

I feel like Forgotten Days is a nice step up from the great Heartless - they add a few new wrinkles to it - Stasis especially

 

Foreigner's still my favorite album from them (more of a time and place in life bias there, but that always describes half of my favorites from bands). They've got a good formula, and it works. The guitar work (especially the solos) seems more alive too.

 

I had Jizmak Da Gusha stop by my apartment and drop off some flowers this week.
