their earliest releases are pretty solid too. check them out if you haven't...pretty sure they put out a comp of everything they put out so far last year, but I could be wrong.

Moved on to Bleeding Through's discography on this "early metalcore" kick I've been on after reading Louder Than Hell and god DAMN they don't make 'em quite like this anymore. Like I said with Unearth, the raw hunger of these bands is palpable.

 

This “new” album is filthy in the best way possible.

 

I feel like it’s so cliche to say as somebody who hated hearing it growing up, but it was just different then. Metal bands felt more inspired.

 

I think that’s called “youth”

 

Speaking of bands of that time/ilk, anyone fuck with The Agony Scene?

 

I saw them with Mig Sigs and Strapping Young Lad like 15+ years ago.

The singer pretty much talked about how he hates Jesus and Christianity is a cult. Which I thought was ironic since they were signed to Solid State.

 

Saw them in Albany when they played on quite a few different tours that came through.

Cosmic doom with black, death, and tribal elements. Reminds me a lot of a stripped down The Ruins of Beverast, which is a great thing because Exuvia's become one of my favorites from the last few years so this is scratching that itch nicely.

 

What Chris Barnes wishes he sounds like?! Lol

 

Maybe I just grew out of both of them, but the follow-ups to Oncoming Storm and whatever album On Wings of Lead were on were both bummers.

 

Slow your roll there buddy...

 

I will defend III: In The Eyes of Fire as my favorite Unearth album until the day I die so them's fighting words.
