Kurt Ballou produced ETID’s 2014 album From Parts Unknown.

Keith Buckley of ETID was in The Damned Things.

Joe and Andy of The Damned Things are also in Fall Out Boy.

Fall Out Boy toured with Jaden Smith on their recent tour.

Jaden Smith’s father released the iconic album Big Willie Style.

I feel like Deafheaven was a breakthrough "extreme" band on AP, seemed like they had a sizable footprint at least.

    Let's talk about Thou instead.

They dropped a surprise album yesterday:

It has shorter songs and is a bit more noise focused, but any Thou is better than no Thou whatsoever.

So who wants to give me some recs? I'd look through this thread but 244 pages can eat me.

I'm on the prowl for stuff that's rather chaotic and frenetic with minimal to (ideally) no clean vocals and also not too much in the way of growling. Shit like The Chariot, Rolo Tomassi, Circle Takes the Square, The Armed, or even Emarosa's This Is Your Way Out, etc. Or Sectioned, who I just incidentally happened upon while writing this post after clicking on a random page in this thread. That's exactly the kinda shit I want.

Are you familiar with the titan that is Converge? Judging by your like of The Chariot and Sectioned, I'd say that's an obvious start

I'm just going to throw a few recs out and see what sticks for you:

-The Dillinger Escape Plan (mathcore OGs)
-Cult Leader (might be a bit too growl laden for you, but they fit the chaotic/frenetic tag perfectly IMO)
-Weekend Nachos (my personal powerviolence faves - might not be what you're looking for, but like I said, they are a personal favorite)
    -Botch (also mathcore OGs)
-Norma Jean (metalcore that seems like a natural progression from The Chariot - though they're a bit more refined than chaotic)
-Deafheaven (not a huge fan of them, but they're a good entry point into more frenetic, atmospheric music)
-Car Bomb (solid mathcore that captures Sectioned's frenetic side pretty well
-Converge (OG frenetic hardcore - like theagentcoma recommended)
    -Nails (divisive try-hard grind/hardcore hybrid)
-Full of Hell (chaotic mix of every non-thrash metal genre thrown on a grindcore chassis)
-Totem Skin (one last personal recommendation - one of my favorite mixes of hardcore, crust, and atmospheric black metal ever)

If you need recommendations for specific records, let me know.

You might like Vein if you’re into pre-Jane Doe era Converge. Their last EP is 4 songs in 5 mins, so, low risk high reward

If I could just forget it

This is what comes to mind when I think chaotic, frenetic, and no clean vocals or growling. This album knocked me on my ass the first time I heard it.
