New Nails is a solid lock for top metal/hardcore album of the year so far for me.

Now if a stream of the new Gojira would appear my Thursday afternoon would be complete...

 

New Gojira album is enjoyable, but I don't love it. "Pray" and "Only Pain" are massive, though.

 

The new Harakiri For The Sky album is excellent.

 

Planning on giving that one a listen later today.

Finally getting around to listening to the new Gojira album now that I'm actually in front of a computer at work and it's delightfully mediocre so far. Like I'm all for them branching out and mixing up their sound, but this just feels completely deflated. It doesn't even have the level of intensity and musicality (waning as it was compared to the rest of their discography) that Infant Sausage had. Maybe it'll grow on me, but I'm not sure how much of a revisit I'll give it after this listen

 

I guess the last Kayo Dot album is hardly classifiable as Metal, and this one even less so...

but

I think many of you dig this band and got into it through its metal origins

Everyone needs to give this a listen now. Seriously. Ethereal post-black metal with instrumentals that rival Deafheaven's thrashing but with vox that sound more stylistically like Devin Townsend's cleans or the Mars Volta.

Found this out through Noisey, pretty solid ass black metal if I do say so myself.

 

I'm pretty sure that 7% of all the BM albums in history use a Beksiński painting as cover

Not sure the song comes together as a whole, but I'm digging a lot of parts of this track.
