Yeah, the members are definitely talented. Levi's a pretty good vocalist, too. Only thing that bothers me about them a lot of their stuff sounds like diet-Unearth, so I didn't give them much time until Deathless came out. That record is solid, though.

Diet-Unearth is probably the best way to describe them haha. But deathless was a solid record, it was nice to hear something a little different.

 

I'm giving Cult Of Luna a listen for the first time and they're really good. I'm not sure what I expected, but it's good.

 

I'll probably be at that date. I've skipped them the last few times they've been through here. This date is on a Friday so I don't really have any excuses this time.

 

Just downloaded Memorial. Is this a good place to start with Russian Circles?

Loving the new Be'lakor. They've always been one my favorite melodic death metal bands.

 

Nice. I've missed out on too many shows I'd planned on going to lately so I really need to turn that around ha.

Good as place as any, really. I'd personally recommend Station, but only because it's my favorite of theirs. Hard to go wrong with em though haha.

 

Can't disagree with you there. Having a full time job sucks sometimes for going to shows.

I'm stoked for Maryland Deathfest next weekend. It's gonna be a major rager.

 

I only just got around to it but the Vektor album is AOTY material. Easily on top for me for 2016 so far.

 

Way better than the last song and I didn't even dislike that one like most of you seemed to.
Pretty excited that they're coming to Tampa at the end of September!

 

Man, I can only imagine how good that Russian Circles album is going to be. Godcity is literally where you go if you want a heavy album to sound like church bells.

 

Ghost were fun as fuck tonight. Emeritus talked in his Super Mario voice the whole time and it was wonderful haha. Pinkish Black opened up (super weird choice but I'm not complaining) and they were pretty rad too. Gonna have to spend more time with their albums at some point.

On this note, much as I love the new Kvelertak album and dig the production on it, I do miss that Godcity punch from their first two. But it's good they're willing to try something new.

 

New Despised Icon dropped today and I gotta say, it's pretty great. I'm stoked to have them back.

Also, Epicardiectomy posted on Facebook that due to some issues (didn't explain what exactly) they won't be able to make their summer US tour stops including Chicago Domination Fest and The Bay Area Death Fest.

 

I thought Despised Icon wasn't out for another month? Did it get pushed forward?

 

They dropped the first single from it today. The album is still coming out in another month.

 

Ah, gotcha. I need to check that out. I never got super into them, but I remember catching them live at Summer Slaughter in 08, and they killed.

 

Despised Icon has always been a staple of the deathcore community...and genuinely among the better bands in the genre. Just never gave them the time of day for some reason.

 

Despised Icon is probably the only deathcore band I can stomach anymore. The new single is pretty good.
