It’s expensive to do the top tier, but they have provided a lot of cool and consistent content in a relatively short timeframe. It just depends how much you like them, I suppose.

Edit: the merch discounts are also nice, especially when they did the Jason Valentines stuff last month.

I’m subscribed to the bottom tier and feel like it’s been pretty underwhelming. Probably going to wait a few months then upgrade for 1-2 months so I can catch up on all of the good stuff.

Attention Philly / Southeast PA Beer Snobs: Neshaminy Creek apparently brews their Menz collab beer, "After the Party", as a seasonal brew. Just copped some at a Beer Distributer today. Also discovered they have a "The Shape of Hops to Come" Refused homage beer as well.

I was hoping to about some HE bsides or something new. I know we were already spoiled with an entire album of alt versions.

Are any rare songs/b-sides in that 3rd Tier of the Patreon? I'd be down to throw some money their way if I can get some tunes out of it for sure.

Wasn’t Greg rumored to be working on a solo record?

I can’t believe it happened but I think this topped ATP for me. Just much more consistent sound wise and thematically and much stronger Tom songs

I don’t think it’ll ever top ATP for me, but I really love reading this opinion. I love HE so much and agree the Tom songs, despite only being 3, are excellent.

Just curious where or if there was any more info? I feel like The Menzingers sound has a lot of flexibility right now, so I have no idea if it’d be something different musically, lyrical content wise, or just developed entirely on his own.

I find that Menzingers have done a lot right and remind me a bit of Gaslight Anthem’s career path, and Brian’s Horrible Crowes album with Ian was an awesome different album

I want to say it was on his instagram end of last year. No concrete info, just alluded to.

I’ve been in this camp for a while I would say, but I think HE is the better record. I still think ATP has the higher highs, but HE is so damn consistent all the way through.

I can’t pick a favorite between the two. They’re like Day and Night and work extremely well together.

I can just let this album run front to back and it flows great, and while ATP has the better individual songs, I can’t say the same.

I honestly think the only song on HE I feel meh about is I Can’t Stop Drinking. There’s just so much to love about this album.

Both albums are great. I’d give the edge to ATP era though. I think the vocal production quality on HE still bugs me on a few moments on the record.

I prefer ATP myself, but HE is also excellent.

    OTIP still number one though

I’ve gotten used to the production on HE and it’s way less irritating than when I first heard it, but if they returned to the quality of ATP i’d be happier.

Especially when working with the same producer. I get using that distant vocal effect thing on a song called Hello Exile and as an option in places, but I think it wasn’t necessary in certain places. Great songs on both records though.
