The vocals are fine for me. I can hear what people are saying, but it doesn't bug me that much.

I have only listened to this once and I can already tell I love it. Not ready to pick favorites yet though

On first listen, the drumming really stood out to me as excellent on a few songs in particular

I think this is the first album where I actually like all of Tom’s songs.

Can somebody tell me which 3 are the Tom songs? I can probably tell if I pay attention, but I haven't yet.....

Last to Know, Strawberry Mansion and Portland

  7. three of my top five I'd think—I'd include Hello Exile and I Can't Stop Drinking from Greg. I think this sound actually suits Tom better imo but I do like the whole album

It took me a couple listens for a lot of this to sink in but now I'm listening a ton, which it looks like has been a common trend. Idk why this was just not on my radar at all (I kept forgetting it was coming), but I'm enjoying it a lot.

The screamy vocals at the end of "Farewell Youth"

Ok, I do have one thing I don't like about this record: that super loud fade out on "Last to Know" always comes unexpectedly and always rattles me.

I think "Strawberry Mansion" might actually be my favorite sing-along on here and I kinda hope they play it live.

It’s so good and gives Strangers Forever an extra jolt to start.

I tried getting into some of their older albums after seeking recommendations because I loved "Anna" so much, and they still didn't click. Love this whole record, though. Strange.

I'll definitely have to revisit now that I know "Anna" isn't just a total anomaly.

Right when I think I'm getting the hang of telling Tom and Greg songs apart, I find out that Portland is a Tom song. Oh well, maybe next album

Did you try After the Party? I feel like that is definitely the most accessible and similar to this. Still great to hear you enjoyed this album!

Strain Your Memory for the best song on this album, best encapsulation of everything I love about The Menzingers, while being different from their other stuff

Last To Know is my current favourite.

    That slower part...

Promises were made on an altar in blood
Sacrificial children's voices echo on and on
We're the last to know, we're the last to know

    I just love it.

See I want to include Portland in my top 5. I also want to include America and Strangers Forever. This is a problem.

I gotta admit I have a hard time figuring out Tom’s metaphors sometimes.
