I'm in the same boat. OTIP and RW more so than Chamberlain Waits but I definitely enjoy those three enough to want as many songs by this band that I can get my hands on. And it's looking like After The Party is only going to reinforce that for me.

 

I will take it on faith that ATP will be sick as hell cause I've listened to the first two singles a few times each and im not gonnal listen to the title track. just so i don't wear any of them out. despite precautions i still have the chorus to lookers stuck in my head soooo?

 

I've already listened to the title track like 15 times now I have no willpower

 

it's their fault for releasing three fuckin bangers in a row how am I supposed to not listen to these

 

there's a lot of music out there in the mean time and i also just way prefer listening to entire albums which has helped also i feel guilty bc i haven't preordered and i'd like them to have my money so this is punishment

 

Why not just pre-order? Worst case scenario your $20 or so helps their chart position. Best case you have another record that impacts the way OTIP did or more, and you wear the hell out of that vinyl.

I support Drew's decision. Although TW wasn't better than OtiP.

 

Made it a point to not really listen to the singles for this one. I couldn't even tell you what Lookers or Bad Catholic sound like right now. Haven't listened to this one and I don't plan to.

I hope this pays off.

Same, I listened to Lookers a few times when it came out but haven't touched Bad Catholics or the title track. Immensely excited for this record, though.

 

I hope the chastity belt approach works for you brother! Release day will be awesome for you because these songs are really really good. I need to pick a release this year and do this. It's too easy to just listen to the single when it drops. Given the way releases have changed over the years, I think this is a really good way to create a mini holiday for yourself. What a better way to spend a Friday than hunkering down with this album for the first time?

 

First Listen: The Menzingers - 'After the Party'

Doing a live blog/Q&A about the album for supporters tonight if anyone is interested.

 

New song is amazing. I could definitely see this becoming my favourite Menzingers album based off the songs released so far.

 

Knowing you guys have your advances sets it the release is finally CLOSE.

Could easily be my album of the year.

 

Mexican Guitars is easily their most under appreciated song.

Cannot wait for this release now. The fade out is kinda strange but I think it'll really work in the context of the album.



Also, Ava House is the worst 10/10 song, on an album of all 10/10 songs.
