I think it's interesting they've put a block around writing about touring, but the most of the writing previously happened in short bursts between tours. Makes the writing that much more impressive if they have less to draw from like I'd expect

They were raving about Will when I talked to them. Not that they would say anything negative to me, but they legimately got excited to talk about him. At least with this record, Will wasn't making overall sound or directional changes the band didn't agree with. It was more add a bridge here and add harmonies there. I know it would be a lot of coincidences, but it almost seems like a lot of bands just chose to make records I didn't really care for rather than Will changing a bunch of band's sound.

that seems to be every band's opinion of will

And that kind of makes me re-think my opinions of him. From the outside it seemed like a guy that was just networking his way into projects and started making more directional decisions as he gained confidence. Now the problem seems to be more with me and the decisions the bands made not totally lining up. It seems like Will is just super excited to work on projects and puts his all into making the band's vision a reality. Whether I like it or not, I can respect the hell out of it.

Anything new about the release date for this? Seems likes it's been radio silence from the band for the past month or so.

since it's not going to be until next year it makes sense that we won't have a release date for a little while

This was the only album that had potential to beat Brian Fallon's for my AOTY so it's a shame I'll have to wait so long since Lookers is just so damn good.

A February release is still fine, OTIP was a February release so I could get a depressing winter vibe going!

Listen to the new Microwave record if you haven't yet, that could give Painkillers a serious run

I believe that tour concluded in Nashville already. I don't know when it kicks off but they are doing a European run with The Bouncing Souls for part of the fall.

The impression I've always got of Yip is that he brings out the best of songwriting in bands, but he just doesn't have good technical skills.

If this album doesn't come out until next year I hope they release a deluxe version with lots of extra songs.

maybe the party hasn't ended yet/started and that's what's holding it up

I gotta believe the delay with the record is related to a vinyl delay.

hey maybe the band finally realized Greg's songs are the best part of every record they've made so they decided to just record more of his songs.
