This was a pretty pointless exercise that can be safely ignored going forward. Only positive thing I can think of was Michael Gandolfini.

Really bad. Acting by Nivola, Liotta, Farmiga and Bernthal was great. Every single callback to the show was awful. Also why was it shot so dark/pale? The beach scene was every shade of grey

They probably should have dumped Tony’s plot entirely and just focused on the conflict between Dickie and Harold — make it feel like its own thing rather than just a bunch of Sopranos references.

Funniest part was Dickie driving up to the protest outside of the police station and his first reaction is to stereotypically go “Oh!”

It's funny how much Chase emphasized the riots and how it affected Newark while in the movie it almost completely disappears just like Harold does.

Happy for the people who enjoyed it though I can’t help but feel they’re watching with super low expectations. The movie was objectively weak stuff compared to what the show accomplishes even in its lowest moments.

The Seinfeld reunion (through Curb Your Enthusiasm) gave a fresh spin on the entire revival idea. Deadwood provided closure for a show that ended too soon. Twin Peaks: The Return not only topped the original show but it one of the greatest things to come out this century. It isn't expectations alone that made The Many Saints of Newark bad.

I actually thought this was pretty good. Casting was amazing besides Silvio (no idea what they were thinking there lol)
