I would be happy with that. The Maine is the only band I really would want to see on Sad Summer.

They posted on their insta stories/twitter fleets 14 years..., in the style of that first teaser earlier in the week. Some fans on Twitter think it might be a greatest hits album before the new album.

A greatest hits album hopefully means one or two songs that didn't make the cut for a recent album shoehorned in at the end. I'll take a couple new songs over no new songs

Surely the best thing to come from the streaming era was making greatest hits albums redundant?

I’ll take a greatest hits album if it’s reimagined. Those types are cool to me.

 

Very much doubt they’d be going to all this trouble building hype just for a greatest hits collection. Setting a time in their Instagram story just to reveal a greatest hits collection seems excessive. We know the new record is done and ready to be rolled out. I’m expecting the first single for the new record tomorrow.

 

I expect an album or tour announcement at minimum

 

I could see a single/album announcement for sure. Since Sad Summer Fest still hasn’t been canceled, I don’t know if they’d announce a tour or not.

Found it interesting that "tour dates" was in the source code of their XOXO website. Perhaps could be a placeholder.

 

They could have a tour scheduled for the fall potentially, I mean who knows what steps people are taking to be prepared just in case things are ok.

 

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. We will see. Either way, really stoked for whatever they're announcing today. Like others have said, I'd be shocked if this was all hype for a greatest hits record. But they do love some drama, who knows.
