Chickened out on coming out to my work people today. My boss knows, but the other two people who were on the call don't. I just couldn't do it. Fun.

 

My only advice on the matter is that you're literally just delaying the inevitable at this point. I know it's hard, but the sooner you just get it over with, the sooner you can dump all of that anxiety and work on dealing with whatever fallout might occur.

Yeah I getchu, it's unfortunate but transition is something you just literally cannot hide from people who already know you which is why I just came out early and got it over with. So much less anxiety.

There's more to it than that.

Basically, Charlotte City Council agreed to repeal their own bathroom ordinance (which HB2 was created in response to, in order to nullify it) with the ultimatum that NC state lawmakers would repeal HB2 by December 31st. A lot of my fellow trans friends in Charlotte are really upset over this, including many of the major activists in the area, and I think it's justified; it feels like we're being thrown under the bus. This was all done very suddenly and seemingly without any input from local trans leadership. I've seen speculation that once this deal is struck, Charlotte is going to pass another, similar, ordinance that removes protections based on gender identity. Idk, I hope it goes well, but I honestly share in the skepticism I'm seeing from my friends.
