Hebra was so hard to find like half of the shrines

 

I have three shrines left and it’s driving me nuts.

 

Hebra was what finally broke me in looking up the last handful of shrines. Oh, the entrance to this shrine is on the other side of the mountain from where it shows up with the shrine sensor... of course.

 

Turns out I had found them all but somehow didn’t complete three of them. I didn’t pick up on some of the icons being a different color.

 

are you talking about the one where you have to melt ice to get into it?

 

I think theyre talking about the one thats at the great hebra skeleteon. The entrance to that shrine is way off from where it starts to ping on your sensor. Thats one where you gotta roll a snowball down a hill into the stone doors. Pain in the goddamn ass.

Yep, To Quomo Shrine. It's like the 2nd most north west shrine.

 

So, I just finished all the memories yesterday. I also just watched all the memories in chronological order to gain a better perspective, and it was awesome. I love this game so much.


Imo, - and I know this could be a hot take - they should’ve gotten a voice actor for Link in the memories. I think it would’ve done a lot.

 

i thought that too, but im also so used to link just motioning and people understanding him somehow that it didnt bother me lol

 

I haven't stopped playing for the past (almost) two weeks. Maxed out my stamina, freed all the beasts. Now I'm just basically do anything I can to not end the game. Which will be easy once I buy the DLC tomorrow.

 

It didn’t bother me per say, I’m used to link behaving that way too obviously. I just think though in those memory videos, not only was link silent (as usual lol), but he had no facial expression. Like Zelda will be all happy / funny mood when she finds the frog and Link is just :/
Or the memory with Zelda, link, and all the champions when they’re at Laynaru and they see the entry of Calamity Ganon, links still just like :/

 

I want more DLC :(

 

All of the DLC takes place before Ganon, right? Just finished up my shrines and divine beasts and don’t want the game to end.

 

I need to buy the DLC, Mario distracted me for a little but I need more BOTW.

Just defeated Ganon last night, still have 20ish Shrines and the DLC to play. Glad I did it when I did though for how into the story I’ve been this week.

I will post a big thinker on my thoughts of this game. At this point I can seriously see this being my favorite Zelda of all time. My only thing I’ll say right now......... it’s bullshit they don’t have link and Zelda kiss or hug or confess love or SOMETHING in the final cut scenes of the game. Come on. Zelda’s diary in the castle, Kass’s story about his master / that song, the great deku true not conveying Zelda’s message to link because she should say that to him herself.... ANYONE THAT THINKS ALL OF THIS ISNT IMPLYING A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THEM I WILL FIGHT YOU

I remember reading a thing about ocarina of time that went on to theorize/imply that link and zelda are brother and sister like sort of a luke/leia thing.

I didnt reaaally buy it but the ocarina of story timeline could make sense to that theory but not so much with this game, there seems to be way too much unspoken feeling at least from zelda.

So upon completing the story, i want to get down more of my thoughts on BOTW. i still have a little over 20 shrines. im so excited to finish those / play the DLC. i wanna post a reply to something i said when i was maybe midway through the main story.

I want to talk about that first thing i said about BOTW's story. I think now that i have actually done the story, people dont give BOTW enough credit for having such a unique story WHILE being a total re-write of the Zelda formula. Obviously from that old post of mine, there was a time where i was a little unimpressed with the story of BOTW...

im a changed man. The story in BOTW is amazing.

Zelda. Has Zelda ever mattered as much in any other Zelda game?? No. You can argue Skyward Sword, but youd be wrong, and also that game is just ridiculously inferior to this in everyway. Zelda is an ACTUAL key to the plot. for like, the first time ever. In fact, this whole game is Zeldas story. this game isnt about Link at all. Every memory you retrieve is to more understand / reveal what Zeldas personal conflict was before the calamity struck. Each memory you reveal, you get to know her a little better. When you find her and her fathers diarys in the castle, you learn EVEN MORE about her struggle with her calling, and her relationship with her father (who is kind of a dick tbh). Also Zelda is a total bad ass in BOTW. She literally saved links life. Also she is finally a fighter, not just a damsel in distress. Its interesting to think about it like this too: the whole game you need to get to the calamity so Zelda can finish this 100 year battle that SHE has been fighting.
Zelda and her story in BOTW is the strongest portrayal of the character in any LoZ game ever.

the back story. The back story for BOTW is super super developed. Everything, from 100 years ago to Link and Zelda and the Champions. Going back 10,000 years ago to the ancient Sheikah technology. Wind Waker competes for having a great back story too. but i just love BOTW back story. it makes me have so many questions that i want answers to. it makes me hope that someday i do get a zelda game that takes place in those Sheikah times 10,000 years ago that they talk about so much in the game. Botw makes me want to see fully thought out prequels to this version of Hyrule, and its because of how the game sets up the back story. Im so interested in curious about so much going on in the game.

At this point i have no reason to say that this story isnt just as good as a game like OoT. i actually think how much freedom the game gives you can be a distraction for realizing how great the story actually is. i think it was for me when i made that initial post.

Anyway, this game is amazing. if i could change anything about this game, Link and Zelda would have made out because im telling you right now theyre in love and anyone who says otherwise is a fool / crushing my dreams. Also i think this has to be the last Zelda game where link doesnt have a voice. I can understand arguments against it for BOTW (defending the choice to not give him a voice), but i just think link having a voice would have been really great. mind you, they would have to cast someone with the perfect voice, you dont wanna screw that up. but they could do it.

Also, im not sure anymore about what i said in that post about dungeons. i dont really know where i stand on that anymore lol.

 

They should take Gilbert Gottfried and Morgan Freeman and mash their voices together and make that Link's voice.

 

I love the Zelda series. It’s easily my favorite series of all time. The story is not why lol. It basically doesn’t exist and I think it’s pretty futile to try and make sense of it cause Nintendo doesn’t even know what they are doing

 

Yep. Like, it’s cool and all, but it was certainly an afterthought and now they are trying to finagle stuff in there. They can do whatever they want with the story though cause, truthfully, I do not care.

 

I agree in terms of the timeline between LoZ titles - that doesn’t matter at all, but if you’re saying that the story in each individual game doesn’t matter i disagree. I love getting super wrapped up in the story of the each game.
