I don't want this show to be over

 

I've had the God Only Knows scene stuck in my head since I watched the episode. So good.

 

That was one scene where I don't think the music worked and the score would have have been better.

 

I think it works because it's such a ridiculous situation. Having the music turn serious would have made the show seem like it was taking itself too seriously.

 

I thought it was fine but it was a rare moment of 'this has been done before' for this show.

 

I thought the music choice was perfect

Fwiw I still thought it was an awesome scene. But I would agree with those who were indifferent to the music choice.

Not seeing it. Perhaps she was not yet dead? Perhaps its like others said earlier in this thread and because Kevin doesn't know she's dead, he can't see her in his lucid dream or whatever else you call the afterlife if its not another dimension. Or perhaps she did just move on because she was ready.

Either way, I was looking forward to seeing her in this episode too, but I guess that we'll have to wait until the finale as she the actress stated in a previous interview that she IS in the series finale.

 

The only problem with the "Laurie not there because he doesn't know she is dead" theory is that Kevin never knew Australian-officer-Kevin before he died. I think he saw his dead body, but he wouldn't know what his voice sounded like or any other details

 

Well, Kevin didn't know that Virgil died in International Assassin and he still showed up.

 

I can't decide on where Kevin keeps going on his underworld journeys. I was so adamant on the fact that he isn't actually going to a heaven like place, but rather an inner world created by his consciousness, kind of like that movie The Discovery with Rooney Mara and Jason Segal. But then I realized that he talks to Christopher Sunday in his journey, despite never actually knowing what he looked like. So I guess how could this be created by himself, if it includes people who's likeness he never knew before?

 

Ah @irthesteve and @Joe pretty much just said what I was trying to get across lol. Sunday, Australian Kevin & Virgil. All three kinda debunk the theory that this was all just a lucid dream of Kevin's

 

i mean he drank poison and was buried for hours. he was def on another plane of existence-whether that is heaven/hell/purgatory/something else entirely idk.

 

But he did know him, so it's not crazy for him to show up. I think it's weirder that he never knew or met "God" (that I can recall, at least) and yet he was in all three of Kevins journeys in some form.

Also, "God" showed up both before and after he was killed on camera

Well, if the dude actually is "god," isn't it safe to presume that the rules may not apply to him in the same way they do for others?

 

I understand what you are saying, but you could just explain that by saying that god in this show is a manifestation of what Kevin believes god to look like or be in his subconscious and still stay within your explanation. Right?

This would be the same for me dreaming about god and having the visual representation of god being a composite of all those goofy pictures of gof from the religious education books I had to read while I was a kid. IE...a white male with a beard and impossibly ripped...lol.
