Yeah I'm cool with it

 

Ya I'm a fan of serial killer Armisen. It's just so weird and uncomfortable, which is where this show strives.

 

Tandy may not necessarily be "intuitive," however he's largely suspicious of any newcomer (except for maybe Pat, although he was always viewed as suspicious by the others, not so much by Tandy). They even address this fact when Tandy first brings up the notion that Karl isn't who he says he is. While the situation starts off similarly as it did with Phil and Lewis, this time around, he receives confirmation that he can finally cry wolf with confidence rather than act like a purely envious jackass who wants to be viewed as the patriarch.

I should note that I recently binged the entire series up to the last episode right after the winter break, so it's a bit fresher in my mind. I admire this series for its attention-to-detail and staying true to its characters... but holy hell does FOX's airing schedule make me wish this were released via another platform, even if it's weekly.

 

You raise good points with this, though I'd argue he wasn't suspicious of Phil or Lewis for no apparent reason like he was with Karl. He actually seemed to like Karl and appeared excited to find and introduce him to everyone, whereas Phil and Lewis arrived on their own terms and pretty much immediately started denouncing Tandy for his dumb behavior. His suspicions were based off of his own insecurities, while this feels sort of blind. Also, IIRC Phil arrived when Tandy was still an insufferable sex-crazed dipshit so he was just pissed at having another guy around at all lol.

 

You make a valid point about Tandy's suspicion levels! Him being suspicious of Karl is the the flip side of his suspicions of Phil and Lewis; almost as if Tandy has to be suspicious of him due to the very fact that Karl is being kind and accepting of everybody -- including Tandy!

This show tends to supersede any expectations or predictions I ever have for it. Initially, I thought they were going to introduce a handful of characters, only to slowly kill them off due to Tandy's selfishness, leaving him as the title character once again His interactions with Karl, thus far, have felt intentionally different from previous characters we've seen pass through; maybe because both are strange social creatures who love to talk, but end up putting their feet in their mouths far too often (one figuratively, the other literally, albeit it's other people's feet).

 

I do wonder if they're ever gonna kill off anyone from the core group at this point

 

Series finale is everybody dies except Tandy

 

I would honestly like this if they did it right

 

Uh, I guess this came back tonight? Lol. Maybe it’s just because I don’t watch Fox outside of this show but I feel like it always just starts up out of nowhere with like zero promotion

 

Easily the most inconsistent airing schedule. I feel like fox let's the show stay alive as long as they can air whenever they want as a favor for not canceling it haha

 

I don't know. I think Bob's Burgers might have it a little worse

 

Thought this was a really great episode. Really funny and genuinely kind of intense

I completely forgot the significance of the Rubix Cube so that part really took me by surprise

 

I really loved this episode. I knew was the cube was the second it was pulled out, but I wish I hadn't. I also would have rather seen Tandy have to pull the trigger and have the group face the reality, but thats way too heavy for the show. The ending was still super satisfying though.

 

Great episode. Great to have this and B99 back.

This line killed me.
"Looked to us like maybe you'd dug your little fingie-wingies into a little cadavey-wavvy and then took a teeny eeny weenie little bitesy-witesy."

 

I'm just glad Karl is gone, I really disliked that storyline. Funny episode though

 

"The whole room looks like a Thanksgiving toilet after a turkey recall. Just spattered, warped."

 

The two episodes since the return have been great. Especially the latest funeral scene.

 

Tandy burying his scraps of paper got me good

 

Still one of my favorite things about this show is how they changed Forte's character's name because another character had the same name and they liked him more.

 

Agree, and the fact that he still can't be "Phil" even after the other Phil is dead.

 

I need to find a reason to quote this organically in conversation.

 

I'm a big fan of this show regularly using time jumps at random

 

Whooooo is this!!

 

Not just WHO, but HOW LONG willl they be on screen?

 

Heads up, the Entertainment Weekly instagram just spoiled something for me :/
