I was at the Friday show, and I was thinking in the back of my head how great it'd be if Bruce came out. And then of course Sunday morning I woke up, checked my phone and was like ughghghghg

However they were awesome Friday night, it was still an amazing show, and I was super impressed with Johnny Marr. He even brought out Andy Rourke for There is a Light and How Soon is Now so I got like 50% of the Smiths. Plus they covered This Charming Man with him for an encore. I can't really complain whatsoever.

Friday night was fantastic despite being Bruce-less. The setlist had just about every song I could hope to hear from them during my first time seeing them. My only nitpick was that I’d have preferred the standard version of Mr. Brightside versus the 50/50 split.

I haven’t been into The Killers since Day & Age but I’m considering going to the Cleveland show Friday night, especially after seeing the setlist.

Just came back from the show and their live set continues to get more and more absurd (in a good way).

    Boston Garden was simply electric.

Seeing Johnny Marr doing Smiths songs brought me back to 1987 - a senior in high school. When strangeways came out - and I just went backwards and got all the tapes/cd's. Morrissey, solo - sure, I listened to the radio hits.... But the holy trinity of The Cure, The Smiths, and Echo will always bring me back to the good old days...

What was funny, that at Big Night Live (at the Garden), my youngest was seeing Sabrina Carpenter, so I saw her and her friends in line (she was amazed I found her, as the line wrapped around the Garden!!)

But back to the Killers show - Brandon Flowers has so much energy on stage. Simply electric.

MUCH different clientele at this show then the last one we saw at the Garden (MCR)

So I don't use spotify but if I did I'd bet money "Quiet Town" was my #1 listened to song and it makes me sad that it didn't get the widespread radio play it deserved. Such a goddamn good song.

  9. Was shocked that The Killers made an album I love in 2021 (I should probably revisit Imploding the Mirage) but I've been listening to this pretty much every other day as I work on my own music over the past few weeks. Had no idea they released a new single, about to check it out now

"Desperate Things" is such a masterpiece of mood and vibe. It would be a cool song anyway, but the way it's produced and orchestrated is super unsettling. Not a song I would have thought The Killers had in them before it happened.

Do they have another album coming in 2023 most likely?

They made it seem like they had a few songs coming out in 2022 following boy, leading up to an EP. But obviously that didn’t happen, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they shifted their attention back to just doing an album. But who knows with them, I always feel like they’re shuffling the deck.

from what I hear, there's a lot of things happening in the second half of the year that fans in this thread will like.

Oh sure why not add them to the list with blink, Gaslight?, Spanish Love Songs, Menzingers? for potential summer/fall releases.

Listened to Sam’s Town and it’s associated B sides for the first time in a long while last night. That album was definitely divisive in its day but I think it’s a damn good record and ended up giving them a long career as opposed to, say, Franz Ferdinand.
