FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

One of the most unfair bands to limit to ten favorites but

    1. A Dustland Fairytale
    2. Read Your Mind
    3. Mr. Brightside
    4. Caution
    5. All The Pretty Faces
    6. Change Your Mind
    7. My Own Soul's Warning
    8. Be Still
    9. When You Were Young
    10. The Way It Was

I threw it on because of this thread and it’s more enjoyable than I remember. I probably haven’t listened to it for over ten years. “Spaceman” is a standout.

We’re doing this now? Excluding Pressure Machine songs until the dust settles:

    2. All These Things That I’ve Done
    3. Dying Breed
    4. This Is Your Life
    5. When You Were Young
    6. Mr. Brightside
    7. Be Still
    8. This River Is Wild
    9. Tranquilize
    10. Human

Have you heard the B-sides from that album cycle? Some of them are brilliant, like Tidal Wave and a cover of Four Winds (whose lyricism was an early pointer of what Brandon would aspire to with Pressure Machine). As well as Forget About What I Said if you like the Hot Fuss style. IMO they plug the leaks of any filler you get from Day & Age.

I can always be better, so I'll always try. Supporter

The laced-out guitar squeals that lead into that cacophony during “you forget how dark the canyon gets, it’s a real uneasy feeling” is so well done. A great example of how Rado and Everett soundscaped the hell out of this album in a way that the Killers have never tried before.

lol I was the exact same way, but then I kinda dug “Runaways” when they released it so I went out and bought Battle Born and absolutely loved it

Not really paid much attention to them since 'Sam's Town' but this is tremendous

Same, it also makes me really think a lot about the book Educated by Tara Westover. Definitely resonates with this album.

"Shot at the Night" and "Just Another Girl" get overlooked a lot, but those songs are both so fucking good.

I can’t imagine listening to these songs without the intros. Weird to release alternate versions.

I mean, the songs weren't written, conceived, or recorded with the intros. The intros were a tacked-on afterthought--and kind of feel that way, IMO. They're interesting to hear a few times, but not something I want on repeat listens, and not something I personally needed to hammer home the themes of the record. I'm glad they gave fans the option to just have the songs.

Wouldn't even bother me if someone's list was all singles, they've nailed choosing the singles so well with this band
