Does anyone else notice how deniro is very quiet in all these interviews, almost to the point where he seems kind of uncomfortable?

That is a long-running joke. He is considered a terrible person to interview.

I found the clip but late 90s SNL De Niro and Pesci cameo in a sketch poking fun of their perceived personas

Just watched Casino for the first time, definitely made me appreciate this film, especially Pesci’s performance, more.

Ray Romano was telling a story about shooting that first scene he has with De Niro, and how between takes, De Niro sat quietly in his chair and Ray was waiting for him to get up first so he could visit the craft services table. De Niro is a notoriously shy and quiet guy, so they don’t talk much. When De Niro finally gets up, Ray is relieved and makes small talk with him, but doesn’t really go anywhere and he’s embarrassed that he hasn’t connected with him like he thought he could. Then, a few months later, Ray is checking into a hotel restaurant and De Niro is there, walks up to him and puts Ray in a headlock, kisses his head, treats him like a long lost friend and Ray was like, “oh okay, so I guess we really are cool.” And that’s basically how he describes De Niro as a person.

lol I don't think that anyone legitimately think that they're going to "threaten" Scorcese in that sense, but I do find the meeting to be very shady and a bad look

If Disney wants to own all entertainment and produce all cinema it makes sense to meet with one of the most influential cinematic voices in history as he continues to validly and rightfully say that your product isn’t art. Wonder what Iger’s goal is, and I hope Scorsese brings all the ammo for “hey you’re killing this medium” with the FOX merger/vault, layoffs, monopolization, renting out independent theaters to force them to show Star Wars, etc

Unless they are going to give him an unlimited budget and final cut for an upcoming project, what is the point?
