It seems like the sets are getting shorter as the tour goes on. I wonder why they're doing that

Someone said one of the members was t feeling well one night, maybe someone is sick or something. Probably tough to recover from illness when on tour

also likely that on a tour like this, set lengths aren't standardized and some spaces will let headlining bands play for longer and some spaces won't

They played a full 15 songs last night including an encore (Opening Mail). Christian said the break was much needed and they felt rejuvenated. The band sounded great last night and were certainly enjoying themselves. Lots of kids there, too, which was cool to see, although I was really irked by the fact most of them didn't know how to control themselves. Once they started Your Deep Rest, the jumping around turned into literal push moshing which was the most ridiculous thing ever. Normally Christian tells kids to stop but nothing last night.

But yeah, the band sounded really good. Openers were interesting too. Would def recommend this tour.

people always push at the end of among the wildflowers / life in drag and it sucks but is kinda expected at this point

nothing beats the time some kid tried to start a circle pit to Introduction last year tho. at the acoustic show I made a friend who turned out to be him and it was a v weird moment

yeah we had a chat with christian last night and that came up, he talked about how he wanted to but it wasn't awful and he feels like he has a hard time doing that. he actually has the moments on goodness on purpose as sort of lulls to calm people down

based on what you quoted i thought you were talking about talking to christian lol

what we didn't do is run from the back of the pit and slam into a wall of people, pushing a bunch of very small girls into the stage. there's a difference between fun pushing and jumping and having no regard for other people around you.
like how do people literally just purposely fall backwards into the people who aren't even in the pit? come the fuck on

My show is tonight, so excited to finally see them again. I hope we get a nice long set as well. 10 is just not enough! I wish they were playing In Framing though, would gladly swap out Life in Drag for it. I also hope they don't play everything too fast like some have mentioned on past nights.

honestly, "be aware of your surroundings" is all anyone needs to follow. look at how the people around you are reacting to what you're doing and don't engage people who aren't feeling it. are you running around in circles while everyone else is standing with their arms crossed glaring at you? are you trying to slam dance to a pop ballad? maybe don't do that. it's not hard to not be a dick

Like I don't get people who think that they have a five foot radius around them to move however they want. Like yeah, be excited and have fun but mind your own space! Control your body! It's not hard!

Weeeeeelp the show was absolutely awesome but the set did get cut short. Christian broke a string about four songs in and that really took a lot of time to fix. There also seemed to have been some sort of issue with Told Slant so they went on kind of late. And the whole thing had to be done by 8:30 sharp because of a late show. So we didn't get Opening Mail and a lot of the Home songs were cut, but the Goodness stuff sounded killer and that was what I came for anyway. I feel lucky that I saw them do Home in full at Fest so I can't ever complain about not getting those songs. I really hope they come back soon and are allowed a full set. I'd kill for 17-18 from them at some point.

That sucks that the show had to end so early in VA. Anyone else coming out to see this at Cat's Cradle tonight? Hoping it's a decent turnout even though at 28 I'm sure their fanbase will make me feel super old but that's just what happens to me at shows now

There were a LOT more over-21s at this show yesterday than there were at the MoBo show Wednesday. I think this tour is skewing slightly older for some reason, or their fanbase is changing a bit. But at MoBo I felt ancient at 24 and it was almost entirely kids who had never seen them before. I wish I could go again tonight, Cat's Cradle is such a blast. I bet you'll get the full set too.
