I took the golden opal chrysolite line as referring to the soft, whole, goodness in us. The best of us.

So can I buy a version of the vinyl that's actually blurred out? Would push me to preorder it.

Does anyone else feel that the songs that have been released paint a really vivid image in your mind? Like when I listen to Piano Player, I imagine a really bright forest on a sunny day in a really secluded area (partially because of Jason's comment regarding the first muffled verse), and when I listen to Soft Animal I imagine myself in a cabin looking out to a snow covered forest and seeing a deer. I listened to the clips once or twice through, so I don't know if I get the same feeling about the other songs, but these two have some really vivid imagery.

I'd imagine there will be some alternate cover for stores; maybe not for the vinyl but for the CD (not that I'd imagine you'd find this CD in Walmart or Target or Best Buy).

TBH I think the artwork blurred out is actually kinda cool.

Also, I might just be seeing things, but, at least on Google Play Music, there are two different 'levels' of blur. In the thumbnail, it's less blurred.

I really think the artwork is neat with the image blurred, but with my daughter soon to be able to reach things on my shelf, I don't want to have to explain the nudists to her yet. Haha.

    and a little jingle...

Just do her a favor and be upfront, honest, and open about it? :). There's no point in shielding her from things like this, especially something as innocent as nudists. But you do you, not trying to tell you how to parent sorry.

    Haha, no worries.

I don't particularly want to look at it either, but I'm not offended by it.

I'm really fine with the artwork and all but.. Why not just come up with a nature themed alternate shirt or something... I do not like the pixilated art work.

    mmm

    1. The pixelated is obvious commentary/criticism on all the people who where offended/disgusted/annoyed/appalled by a picture of eight naked elderly persons. (take a while to assimilate that this actually happened, and in the XXI C - now that's appalling)

    2. I quite like it from a conceptual and aesthetic point of view

can someone explain to me why the word *important* gets thrown around so much for this album

it's going to be a killer record, maybe even an influential record for a scene, maybe even for a genre... important? nah

Some of us were discussing it on the previous page of the thread

@Horrorca couldn't you say that any album that is influential to a scene or genre can be considered important? If it serves as an influence to other bands, or becomes a seminal album for a particular niche in the scene, I'd certainly call that "important" if for no other reason than its resonance and scope. If it significantly impacts a large group of people, it's important to those people, and it's important in the sense that it had the ability to garner support recognition among a diverse population of listeners, something many albums are not able to do.

I hope that all makes sense, thats my take on it at least .

I understand where you're coming from and I respect yr view. Each person determines what's important to them. so... I take it back...

    I don't think it's an important record - you do. It's cool.

I discussed the word from a different perspective(disagreeing/being indifferent towards it from that perspective), but in that context, I've always felt like you can't call an album "important" early in its lifespan. I just can't use it in that context when it hasn't been released or is like, less than a few years old.
