the best part of this band i like are the guitar RIFFS

 

Yeah, I'll have to give it more listens and hopefully more will stick. I really don't like what he's doing with his voice on Goodness pt. 2.

Also, listening via these clips is admittedly a very disjointed process and listening to the record as a cohesive whole might do wonders.

 

I think his vocals are so good on Goodness 2, it's everything else in the first half I'm not sure about.

edit: Actually, let me say this as a mod: I know it's never been a problem to talk about leaks (this isn't one) in the past, but in the Entertainment threads, it's generally accepted that any *specific* information gets a spoiler tag until release date. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but this is a highly anticipated release and I know I'm not the only one waiting another month to hear it, so I really think those spoiler tags would be appreciated from this point forward (as @Jason Tate and @nothingsforeverdude have done). We've used them in the Thrice thread and people seem to appreciate that. I don't think it's too much to ask.

Or, might I suggest taking advantage of the group chats? PM those who want to talk specifics about the album. Just don't force those of us waiting to sit through a month of discussion about the album or unsub, hah.

yeah, that's cool. I can definitely do that. Me and CoffeeEyes were mostly talking through Twitter messages about it last night and when responding on here I didn't even think to use spoiler tags, my bad.

 

You're fine! I'm not upset and I don't think anyone else is, I just figured I'd mention it before the thread was too far gone for some of us.

 

Not entirely sure how to use spoiler tags, haha. I know there's a thing you can write around your post but not sure what it is and there's no button that easily does it like for bold.

 

You have to put SPOILER and /SPOILER in brackets around what you want to say.

 

[ spoiler ] text here [ /spoiler ] without the spaces in the brackets

this album is the best and i love every second of it. "Two Deliverances" and "Sun" in particular are flawless pieces of music. All hail The Hotelier.

I didn't find much love for "Piano Player" the first time I heard it. However, "Soft Animal" piqued my interest so now I'm very much looking forward to this record. I hadn't heard Home in over a year and it felt like a brand new record. Excited to see what the band does.

 

so I just checked in -- it's like "sorta" leaked? I dont know if I want to listen early anyway. I haven't even listened to the newest song yet.

 

Soft Animal is the best song ever. - im going to try to listen to it as little as possible.


on first listen i absolutely loved the "Fawn Doe, light snow" part, wow. i honestly dont feel that way when i first hear a song very often. I LOVED the guitar tone and i was really really into the drums on the entire track. i thought the drum beats were really creative. i cant wait to listen to this when the album comes out and listen to it with the lyrics. man, i was blown away.
it really is rare for me to get the feeling i just did on an initial reaction of a song.

"End Of Reel" has grown on me tremendously since yesterday. At first I thought it was kind of disappointing but now I'm loving it. The only song I'm not super hot on is "Opening Mail For My Grandmother" but I still enjoy it a good bit.
