this is so crazy, i've learned more in this thread today than i have just reading about this stuff, thank you lol

 

This album has turned into such a [beacon of hope/light in the dark/steadying shoulder to lean on/whatever you wanna call it] for me in recent months. Hard to look back and believe how relatively lukewarm I was about it at first. It all resonates with me so much, it makes me want to cry sometimes. How seldomly this deep of a connection presents itself. Not mad about it in the slightest.

This is one of my favorite albums of all time. No question. It's perfect.

Settle the Scar, esp if I include both versions, is one of my favorite songs by them. It's crazy how long they sat on that one imo

Gotta check out that LP, I enjoyed their ep a lot

 

they didn't really sit on it, it was released! They just decided to redo it because it fit the narrative

 

Oh yeah I meant put it on an album specifically, assuming that was always their plan. Like that song was released before Home, but in its first version could've fit on there if they wanted it to. It's a good song with a narrative that could've fit either of their two best records.

Nobody answered my question about what the goodness songs were that were written in the studio. First one to remind me is the only true fan in this thread

 

this makes a lot more sense as to why it's not on Home. I was imagining the version of Earth that had Settle the Scar in the tracklist for Home and I think I prefer it on Goodness anyway

I kind of thought it was End Of Reel but I couldn't remember for sure, I could've sworn there was 2

 

Can you imagine Goodness without End Of Reel though? Like assuming me and Joan remember correctly that it was End Of Reel that wasn't written until basically the studio, what song would have been the closer before??? End Of Reel is just such a "closer" track. I can't imagine any other song ending the album.
