Yeah but it's hard when you weren't actively looking at the time, you miss out on a ton of stuff other than the records that lasted through time and you'll still miss out on a ton

Yeah but it's better than not trying, plus the one's that have lasted through time are usually the best of the bunch anyway, haha. You'll miss out on tons of stuff in any year, even when you're actively looking as the year goes on. I didn't start getting into music much outside of maybe 10 or so artists until 2009/2010 and 2002-2006 are my favourite years, mostly because of shit I found in 2009/2010.

Oh I definitely try. It's just the fact these later years have the sheer mass that makes it hard to compare, I have a good 4K songs a year from each of the last five or six

2014 probably has the most of my favorite albums

Also, Two Deliverances might be the best pop punk song this band has written

i like this album, but I don't love it like Home.. yet, idk maybe it'll grow on me.
I like Pinegrove more than this to be honest.

Also top 5 for me would be
    The 1975
    Pinegrove
    Modern Baseball
    Hammock
    Saosin

Yeah, I don't get this Two Deliverances "Pop Punk" thing. The only tracks that I say are close to "Pop Punk" on here is maybe either Settle The Scar or Goodness Part 2.

Two deliverances reminds me of 90s alt rock, clean guitars trio sound, bouncy rhythm

Funnily enough I hear the Mae reference on here in a weird way. Not necessarily sounding that alike but similar vibes.

Breaking my serious-post streak with this piece of information: there is no way that the lyrics to the bridge of Settle the Scar aren't "A GREAT FALAFEL RING REFLECTED ON THE LAKE".

Let's talk misheard Hotelier lyrics, guys.

I'm sure I used to have some good ones from Home back in 2014 but it's been so long since I've known the lyrics that I can't remember them, haha.

More like Hotelier drinking games; drink every time Christian says 'crutch' on Home

(okay it's only like twice don't hate)

When I first got this I thought the lyrics for Sun were "Carve your name across the sky, and don't fail to mention it.
When you carve our name, dressed in slate" I had the hardest time trying to figure out what on earth Christian was meaning.

I maintain "to curve around your asshole heart" in piano player is the best misheard lyric
