In a supposedly abandoned neighborhood

 

My friend and I were confused about this too! We were trying to think if there was some explanation or if it was an insanely lazy oversight.

 

Don't Breathe. What a flick!

 

My favorite of the year. Only movie I've taken the time to see twice so far. So damn good.

 

I feel like this sounds horrible but how does a blind man even kidnap someone? Like how did he pull that off/know he had the right person? I am overthinking everything lol

 

I can't wait to see an HD version. The audio mix on the one I watched was inconsistent in the sense that certain parts would get extremely loud out of nowhere, so I was constantly toggling with the volume in anticipation of certain parts becoming audibly jarring (listening through headphones on my laptop). That was unfortunately distracting. Regardless, I can't recall a movie that left me so tense throughout the entire duration in a long long time. This was something special and I only wish that I could have the opportunity to share this in higher quality with my friends sooner.

 

I also watched As Above, So Below today and really enjoyed it. I did a double take when I saw how low the Rotten Tomatoes score was.

The way we "justified" it in our minds was that she must have visited that guy, without her parents/anyone knowing, to apologize or show sympathy for killing his daughter, which was when he took her. But ya, those are super specific circumstances that the movie doesn't even hint to soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

The Exorcist III was pretty good. Loved Brad Dourif's performance, and George C. Scott was great too.

 

My mom's a nurse and used to work at a hospital. About 25 years ago George C. Scott came in for some treatment and was a real crank, treated the nurses like crap until he had his wife transfer him to another hospital.

Watched Hellraiser and 1/2 of Hellraiser 2 over the weekend.

Meh.

Not really my thing. It was fairly obvious that the reason for the popularity of the original was due to the graphic practical violence and the Carptenter-esque creatures (the big one, really).

I don't see how this spawned like 6 sequels, or whatever it was, but I gave up watching during part 2.

Has anyone seen the English found footage flick The Borderlands? It is also titled Final Prayer and came out in 2013.

It's about a team of investigators sent by the Vatican to a small church to check the authenticity of the happenings.

If you haven't seen it, DON'T look up the ending because it is seriously one of the most WTF things I have ever seen. The title only just recently came to me so I wanted to share.

Don't get this confused with Borderlands, which has Samwise Rudy himself.

 

I love the Hellraiser series and the whole lore of the Cenobites. I remember reading that even Clive Barker was surprised by the success of the original. It came in a time when every other killer in horror films were silent masked ghouls that just relentlessly stalked pray. Pinhead was such a contrast at the time, one for talking, but also because he has an air of intelligence and sexuality that the others don't. But I do agree that the level of gore certainly helped its case haha.

The second film is generally regarded as the last film that could be considered good. The rest are severely underwhelming, but they do offer a lot in regards to the history of the puzzle box, the Cenobites, and The Order of Gash.

 

I Am Not a Serial Killer was good but nothing profound. Middle of the pack as far as horror movies I've seen this year. Couple good performances.

 

I agree with you. The premise of the movie sounded like it could be something awesome. Young boy with sociopathic tendencies suspects his elderly neighbor is a serial killer. I feel it could have been done better without the supernatural angel / Irish faerie thing

 

Just watched The Boy... it was meh. The twist reminded me of The People Under The Stairs

 

I was sure that spoiler would be Housebound
