I agree. I love the cinematography and the score, but you're right, the twist needed some fine tuning.

It was a great introduction to Aja. He's done some noteworthy films. I wonder what he's working on now...

You & me both, it's too bad the $94 plus shipping tag is a bit steep for my taste but holy shit. That doll looks incredible!

    are we having fun yet?

Anyone have any good horror podcast recs?

Cinepunx have a pretty solid podcast that's a mashup of punk and horror... I tried getting into Joe DeRosa's "See You in Hell" podcast, but it didn't stick. I've heard Killer POV is pretty good, but I never gave it a fair shot.

the one I listen to every week is Bloody Good Horror. They review one movie every episode, with a focus on new releases. I love the humor and repoir between the group and their engagement with their audience.

    I'm Back.

Same, Dread Central had Dinner For Fiends which lasted a pretty long while up until the past couple of years or so. Still worth checking out, especially surrounding major releases like the Halloween movies from Zombie.

He's always been so good, one of the best actors to come out of the 80's. It's a shame he doesn't have more leading roles in major movies.

Roseanne was my favorite sitcom mainly due to it's realism, and the best moments were when Dan would get super intense and you get that moment of "whoa, this is getting serious",

High Tension aka Haute Tension? super violent horror flick? it's kinda, but not purely, part of the NFE movement. they're usually really intense, violent/sexual/devastating horror flicks usually with more a few layers of metaphor/philosophy/nuance. Inside, Martyrs, Frontiers are a few of my favorites, been meaning to watch High Tension but from what i gather it's partly in line with that movement

Ahh gotchya. I've always had a tough time getting into foreign films. I know that sounds shallow, but I've gotta get over it. I've been wanting to see every film you've listed there for years, but keep finding excuses to pass.

how come you're giving High Tension a go out of curiosity? it's actually among the worse of the bunch afaik haha. Inside is one of my favorite films, and Frontiers and Martyrs were both phenomenal as well imo! but if youre not into foreign films i get that (they're actually like twice as easy for me to get into, i'm a lowlevel film hipster shit)

Hahah! Honestly, I took my girlfriend to see it in theaters my senior year of high school and I had NO idea it was dubbed.

Let The Right One In is set to expire from Netflix at the end of the month, so if you've been putting it off, now is the time. Excellent movie.
