Second movie of the night is Victor Crowley. Is there anything I need to know about the Hatchet series before seeing this one?

Watching Brain Damage now for the first time

 

Brain Damage is so much fun

 

We just got to “that scene” and it was incredible

 

Long live Frank Hennenlotter! Using Zacherle as the voice of the parasite is such perfect casting.

 

I’ve only seen Basket Case and now this. Have Frankenhooker lined up. His use of color is incredible

 

You should watch them all. More comedy than horror with over the top violence and blood and gore. Good movies.

I am watching Underwater and friends, I'm not sure what I expected, but this is apparently a "dead dove do not eat" situation

Just watch Sphere, even 25 years on it's superior

I thought I'd seen hell house LLC but I don't remember any of this so far

 

Pledge Night fucking rules but I wish Sid’s voice was different and the gore was better.

Showed my daughter Halloween H20 last night. This is a film I saw in the theater on opening weekend back in 1998, rewatching the scene last night with Jamie Lee & her mother together just puts the biggest smile on my face...and then the score gives a Psycho tribute as she’s walking to her car. My daughter asked why it made me so happy and I just said “kiddo, this is a horror moment that I don’t think you quite understand”

 

Listening to JB give the framework for these movies and Roger Corman's vision for them was super interesting. That being said, yeah, wow what a weird one conceptually. Definitely a ton of Freddy influence for sure but the execution of it all was just so..off. Loads of fun though.

 

Introduced my daughter to The Shining yesterday for my birthday and then we immediately recorded a new episode for our podcast. I think this is by far our best episode yet!

Currently watching all the documentaries for each film in this Halloween box set that Scream put out 6 years ago. It should be noted that these are some excellent docs that Sean Clark should be damn proud of as he produced & put them all together. The fact that he was able to get people like Josh Hartnett for these retrospectives is beyond impressive.

 

hell yeah. excited for this one. also can only assume this means bly manor is done.

Excited to dig into some special features and find some Halloween filming locations I haven't visited yet.

For sure. It's immediately in my October rotation after seeing it for the first time recently. Great atmosphere and practical effects. A ton of fun and doesn't lean too heavily on the comedy side.

 

Halloweens 1 & 2 were both filmed in the same area of South Pasadena so those locations won’t be too hard to find since it’s the same neighborhood lol. Halloween 3 is more of a drive up north from what I understand

 

Nice. Yeah I've been to the Myers House and the hedge. Still need to check out the Strode house, which I hear they encourage people to take pictures and leave out pumpkins for props in October, and Smith's Grove.
