  4. The movie with Doug Stamper doesn't look that interesting. The Girl With All The Gifts seems like an intriguing premise, but I'm not sold by the trailer.

Gonna check out Before I Wake today. I'm a fan of Mike Flanagan so far, but that trailer that just got released for Ouija: Origin of Evil seemed pretty generic.

Off to rent some movies and I've been meaning to ask, is the Black Christmas remake a fun watch for being what I can only assume is a bad movie?

edit: or Below, has anyone seen that? Was surprised to see it was co-written by Afronsky

  7. Before I Wake is more of a fantasy/drama, with horror elements, about dealing with loss. It was ok, but not great.

I've accepted this film for what it is and I think I'll be able to enjoy it because of that haha.

Before I Wake was pretty corny, shut it off after an hour

I'm lowkey enjoying the Scream pilot right now. Nothing exceptional, but it's fun in a bad MTV show kind of way

edit: okay so the writing really isn't very good at all

    edit 2: or the acting

    edit 3: i'm shameless

The Conjuring 2 was pretty good overall. Not as good as the first, a little too long (horror movies really don't need to be over 2 hours imo) and definitely some corny moments, but about as good as can be expected from a major studio release, and a sequel at that.

Looks pretty damn good. Maybe a bit more scifi than horror, but that line so blurred sometimes

Kinda seems like a variation of what we've seen before a few times, Ex Mahina recently

Ah bummer. If you can say without spoiling much, what didn't you like about it? Are you a fan of Refn's previous work?

I really liked Green Room. I also liked the main characters almost instantly. I felt like i knew a lot about them without it having to be explained much. I wanted all of them to make it out whereas usually some characters annoy me and im not sad when they die lol. I also loved seeing anton and imogen together again and they both really stood out in their roles imo. Anton brought a lot of heart into his role as he always did and imogen's line delivery made me lol more than once. Still in denial about anton tho :brokenheart:

Green room is probably my favorite of the year so far. The Witch is a close contender. While it was a fascinating film, it wasn't near as entertaining for me.

I really liked it, if you were into his other movies I see no reason you wouldn't like this one :ok:

if nothing else you will look at beautiful cinematography and listen to 80's synth bass for under two hours and is that such a bad thing?

bout 2 watch green room again really excited (it's out digitally today)
