I hated the last one so much hahaha. Just awful. Definitely should have stopped at three.

 

I didn't really like 4, 5 and 7 but 6 was great...at least that's what I recall thinking, I haven't seen it since it came out. Love 1-3 though, for sure.

 

6 was the one I just watched. I guess the commentary on health insurance could be seen as "interesting," but only as interesting as a movie so pretentious it explodes a guy's ribcage just for being a smoker can be. The flashbacks were unbearable, haha.

There is a sequel to Stakeland, and it's already been filmed, AND it's coming out as a Syfy original!

 

Stakeland was good. Sounds like a win, despite being on Syfy

 

Yup, same two leads, can't be THAT bad.

Loved Stakeland, excited for that!

 

The only downside will be the budget as I doubt it will have the same quality as the original did.

 

Stakeland was great. I'll be keeping an eye out.

Watched event horizon last night after everyone's talk about it. Pretty awesome. The last sequence seemed to ignore all the CO2 issues everyone was so worried about. Oh well. Also rewatched The Shrine. I really love that movie. Great imagery. Tone is fantastic. I think that is one that is pretty well regarded around here. If anyone hasn't seen it, it's more than worth your time.

 

For a movie about space, this had a lot of awesome practical effects.

 

Agreed. Effects really were very good. As was the entire set. Eerie and dark, claustrophobic when it needed to be.

 

I need to watch this again, haven't seen it for a while.

Have you seen In The Mouth of Madness? One of Sam Neil's best.

Not sure why this one didn't get much steam, I think I saw this in theaters.

 

saw Southbound over the weekend... i feel like it got better as it went along, but a few of those segments were pretty bad... nice conclusion, but some pretty rough acting as well.

 

The Invitation is hitting Netflix July 8th for those, myself included, that haven't seen it yet.

 

Great news, I don't regret buying it though. It was only $9 while it was still showing in theatres

I've heard good things and barely know anything about it, which I think is better going into movies nowadays.

The Ti West fans should appreciate The Invitation. While it did have it's moments, I wasn't really that into it.

 

Also a 99cent rental on iTunes this week.
