So is the full season 3 of Slasher out? If so I will Torrent. Won't bother if it's only the first episode

 

The whole thing is out, accidentally watched the first episode of season 3 last night when I thought I was starting s1e1.

 

How does Slasher compare to other horror shows/anthologies as far as general tone and quality? Sounds like it’s more serious than Scream or AHS? How about Channel Zero?

 

The Prodigy. Not good.

 

Very interested in The Perfection and Brightburn this week.

 

Eh the acting isn’t anything to write home about. Very straightforward Slasher story settings where everybody seems suspicious. Details left and right making people look sus with a decent twist each time as to who the actual killer is in an over dramatic ending.


But with that said I like it better than all seasons of AHS after the first. Doesn’t hold a flame to Scream.

 

Wait I just saw where a sequel to Killer Clowns From Outer Space is in development? That was my favorite movie as a kid and it still holds a special place in my heart hah.

 

Okay I'm only halfway through but The Perfection is fucking bonkers

Welp you'll have to let me know what you think because I'm fucking upset, lol. The first half was so promising and wild, but the second half was unnecessary and low-key infuriating. Spoiler/trigger warning: Maybe I'm just sensitive to child abuse/rape but I can't remember a reveal I've hated this much in a very long time.

 

I'm glad the plot to The Perfection was spoiled for me because absolutely the fuck not to everything I read haha

AHS Asylum will probably always be my favorite season of a horror anthology, with some Channel Zero close behind. I still need to finish the rest of that one.

I watched the first episode of season one today and I’m not sure if I can keep going with it. The acting I agree is a big drawback, but I also don’t like any of the characters yet. There was one that I was curious to see where they went after the first twist, but then they died........

 

I'm not going to say it's not worth watching because I obviously am having a very visceral reaction to it, even if it's a negative one, but I would say proceed with caution.

 

So I went ahead and read the wiki page for that and wow. Just wow.

 

I'd be lying if I said films like that didn't fascinate me to an extent (something like Martyrs, which I am still too afraid to watch, for example) but this one felt like it was just fucked up for the sake of being fucked up, which is not really my bag.

 

Is it really that over the top? Because I don't fuck with that type of horror myself

 

There was a sentence in the summary that almost made me nope out of reading the rest, if that tells you anything.

Very underrated film in this decade and that’s a shame

 

It's not over-the-top gore-wise, but there is definitely some reprehensible shit

 

I looked at the wiki page too. I'll probably be too uncomfortable watching it, idk

 

Child stuff is always iffy imo

 

See what I really like about this show, and it’s something they’ve done every season and also in Haunting of Hill House is that it jumps back and forth between past and present giving you piece by piece and revealing new layers of the story and plot to keep confusing you. 2nd season is the best.

 

Hill House was too good. I may keep trying with Slasher, it’s just going to be hard to get past the acting and some of the production value. The scenes in the town kind of seem like a different genre so far because of that.
