What are people's opinions on the Saw films in here?

    Also Trick R Treat?

  3. The first one was great, despite spawning a generation of torture porn. The second one was okay. I watched the third one but can't remember anything from it. Then I stopped.

I'm generally not good with long horror franchises.

Third one was the only good sequel, should have stopped after that.

I definitely think they dipped in quality but I love all of them and how everything ties together

Trick r Treat is so much fun. It really encapsulates what I think is the perfect Halloween vibe — brown and oranges, dark nights, urban legends, goofy decorations, death — and it’s pretty scary, too!

I liked the first Saw. I watched all of the Saw movies as part of a paper I wrote in college and omg towards the end of the series it was torture. I remember one of them I thought the beginning was a silly fake out scene like Scream 4 but it was the actual movie just that ridic and badly acted

  8. didn't they have that thing where it was like "this is the FINAL Saw" and then they made another one

It's probably my favorite horror film. I try to watch it every Halloween.

Wonder if the 2nd one is ever gonna see the light of day

I loved the first Saw film. I don't remember 2 and 3 but I've heard it made it into a decent trilogy. I never bothered with the rest.

Trick R Treat is one of my favorites and among the best anthology films I've ever seen.

I definitely agree that the first 3 were the best of the series, with 2 being my personal favorite.

Agreed on Trick R Treat. Although I liked V/H/S quite a bit too

Trick R Treat is great. First 3 Saw films I enjoyed. The last two (?) were garbage. Jigsaw, pure trash.

  13. Trick R Treat was great

Also, I saw the new Pet Sematary lastnight. I have never seen the original so it was all new to me. Left me feelin the heeby jeebies for sure! I liked it a lot

I got like a summer blockbuster entertainment out of The Nun if that makes sense haha. like it wasn't scary, but I enjoyed the story and characters and thought the cinematography was great.

Going to re-watch Sinister for my podcast. I barely remember it aside from the old home movies, so I am pretty excited to check it out again.

One of my all time favorite horror movies to be honest, and one of my favorite Ethan Hawke performances.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Sinister's usage of that Ulver ambient track is one of the most fucking inspired soundtrack choices of all time

I feel like the horror movies on Netflix are dropping like flies. The fuck? It was my go-to streaming service for this genre (I didn't want to keep paying for Shudder) and the other streaming services barely have anything worthwhile.

Looks like it’s gonna be a tribute to slashers... I think I need to catch up on this show, only seen season 1 when it aired

  23. Oh crap, so it's not just It Follows that's disappeared? Should probably watch The VVitch while it's still on there.
