Has anyone been watching those Hulu “Into the Dark” films? I just watched the Halloween movie (The Body) the other day and thought it was decent. Better than I expected, although somewhat eye-rolling if you don’t know how to have fun with a dumb horror flick

 

I'm expecting something similar to the Core.

Where they announce that it's weekly but have a finite number in mind and don't tell anyone until they run out.

I'd be fine with 8-12 episodes and then a couple specials a year, if that's what it ends up being in the end.

 

I'm pretty sure this segment of Creepshow influenced my entire childhood

I did. Maybe not as much as other ppl but I thought the acting was phenomenal and really made it for me. Everyones performance was v strong. I had a lil trouble suspending enough disbelief for the plot to work, but that could be my straight forward brain which sometimes has a hard time with metaphor and logic lol

 

Yeah I will say, Peele lays it on heavy when it comes time to piece everything together. It could've done better to give a bit more on the "tethered" details earlier, but I also understand why he didn't. The movie builds suspense very well and the imagery was top notch. Lupita is going to be a legendary actress with time.

 

Just watched the Evil Dead remake, shockingly good.

That’s the next one in my queue. So far I’ve watched The Body (decent), Flesh & Blood (highly predictable and rather boring), & Down (not a fan).

While I love the work blumhouse has done previously, I really hope they don’t become known as the reboot studio for horror. Let’s see some original projects!
