Finally finished watching the Paranormal Activity series as I had only seen the first one (which I didn't like at all) and was curious about the rest of the series. I can categorically say that is the worst series of films I have ever laid eyes on, only one of them (The Marked Ones) was average at best, the rest just felt like the same film repeated.

The marked ones is def my fave. 4? I think was legit so boring I almost left the theater

  3. On second watch, I didn't hate The Lords of Salem as much as I did the first time, but I still found it pretty uninteresting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Lords of Salem is great and probably my favorite Zombie flick.

And as far as the Paranormal Activity series goes, I only watched the first 3, and the only scene out of any of the ones I saw that actually frightened me was the ending of the third maybe - where the cult is at grandmas housei think.

Watched Mandy and Lake Mungo this weekend. Mandy was great and lived up to the hype I had. Very disappointed in Lake Mungo. Found it tedious to get through and not even remotely scary. Seemed more like a drama to me, but not a very good one at that.

I've seen PA 1-3 and those are all good. I think I liked 3 best. I need to finish the series although I've forgotten most of what happened

To each their own. The first “glimpse” you get of it in the movie is really suspenseful and well done. Had me thinking “what the fuck was that?!” and kept me on edge. But like many horror movies, I think this one stumbles with the third act and the reveal just wound up looking like a cartoonish heartless from Kingdom Hearts imo haha. I wasn’t nearly as freaked out when credits rolled.

Also, PA 2 & 3 are definitely the highlights from that series. The rest are a mess.

  9. Couldn't get through the PA films after 3 but I do seem to remember that one being the best. There's a sheet ghost bit in that one, right? I think I caught it in theaters

Third PA always bugged me because it took place in the 80’s but the home movie were in HD. Like I know that’s nitpicking but it would’ve been cooler if was shot on video tape.

I loved the man-deer-god haha. Great design imo

I think a lot of movies these days kind of default on not showing anything or obscuring it either because they're afraid of screwing it up or maybe it's a budget thing, idk. The Ritual did well with it's reveal

I watched the February Hulu into the dark movie Down I think it was called? The elevator one

It was good and suspenseful and had you at the edge of your seat, but I called the plot twist pretty early on

I watched Train to Busan tonight again, and wow do I think this movie really might be top 3 zombie films ever. Really original and well executed. Just when you think it could get bad or ahead of itself, it calms down and wraps up nicely. 15/10.

I recommended it to someone despite not having seen it in a couple years and she gave up on it and said it was too sad... I don't actually remember it being that sad

Speaking of Train has anyone watched Kingdom on Netflix yet? My friend was telling me it’s good.
