The Estonian fairytale movie? Quite a few in here watched it. Not entirely horror, more folklore/fantasy. It was a pretty great movie imo. And I think most, but not all enjoyed it

Looking at all your lists, 2015-2018 definitely had more great horror than 2010-2014

 

2014/15 and up really did have a major influx of indie horror entries that were really solid.

 

Carnage Park and Ghost Stories are worth watching?

 

2014/15 was That's when I really started getting into horror. It Follows was one of the first releases I heard a lot of buzz about. I rushed to see it in the theater and it became one of my favorite movies

The thing I was looking at to me had Cabin down as 2011, but have now realised it was 2012. But I don't think I actually like anything from 2011...

 

some years in the 2010s have had 2-3 all timers for me then some have nothing I really care about
all I can say for sure is Get Out for 2017 and Hereditary for this year

 

so I know I kind of brought this game up and haven't done it yet haha, loving everyone's answers. question, how are people searching the films each year? anyone found an easy list, or are you doing individual googling haha

2018: A Quiet Place [Hereditary, Halloween, Annihilation] - ugh 2018 was tougher haha

I completely forget that Annihilation is the first movie I saw this year in theaters. Feels like it was forever ago.

 

I honestly haven't loved any horror movie in 2018. Several good ones though. The one I've enjoyed most was Halloween, but it didn't feel right to pick that over Annihilation or Hereditary

 

oh wow that was this year. what a long year it has been.

 

I personally don't think of Annihilation as horror (unless horror and sci fi are interchangeable/sci fi is too general of a term), so I would have to say Hereditary. Or Mandy. Mandy was a fucking trip to experience in the theater.
